Stealing Gas.

There is a better way than nuking. Kill every citizen and then make good use of the land:P

Let's try to think a little more positive about this, shall we? ^^;

Even if America became crazy enough to even dream of trying to rid of China and India, it'd be absolutely impossible. No other country would ally with a country that's declaring war for oil. [Some can argue that's what Iraq was..but as you can see with the price differences from then and now, it's highly unlikely. It may have been a thought, but they obviously failed.] Not to mention, China could crush us with manpower, and if we dared to use Nukes. every other country would be all over us.

The real only way out of this, is to find another energy source. Of course, as a quick fix, we could always flip Cuba the bird and drill out all of the oil in the Gulf of Mexico. I still can't believe the US is not allowed to touch it. Billions of barrels of oil just below our nose, and we can't get a whiff of it. =/

Yes, we must take this topic more seriously since the current state is not improving and whether we like or not, we are affected unless you're living in a Mid-eastern oil producing where not even the bear market has laid its claws on.

The solution is of two: gathering new oil wells and creating better alt energy. Either way, countries must work together and destroy the great divide between them. This is a worldly matter and therefore the world must solve it as a whole.

I really wonder if the world leaders could unite to try and figure out a solution to this energy crisis. I'm almost afraid that it'd end up as a blame-fest of many countries pointing fingers at the US for being such blatant energy hogs. China and India may be using more oil than they used to, but the US has always been reigning king of excessive energy use.

I hope that the US catches on with the ideas of other countries, and creates a much more efficient public transportation system. But then it also makes me wonder, public transportation in non-Big-City areas has become almost frowned upon. In my town, only those who can't afford cars would dream of taking a bus. It's very unfortunate that some citizens have become so pig-headed as to think that they're 'too good for public transportation.'

I honestly think that a revolt isn't too far off in the future. If gas continues it's rise to nearly $7 a gallon, the economy just wouldn't be able to handle it. When the quality of life changes for people drastically, I'm pretty sure they'd be desperate enough to defy their government, or at least the oil companies. All I can say is, I wish a hell of a lot of luck to the next people taking over Office in the US.

I doubt it would get to the point of a revolt. The US government, regardless of which party is in power, could subsidise oil prices if a revolt threatened. It's a leftist policy, which is an anathema to american politicians, but I think they'd rather do that than have a revolt.
Also considering Castro is getting closer to death it would be stupid to piss off the Cubans before necessary. America could follow the Monroe doctrine and covertly install a right wing army general who is pro-US. They have done it often enough. Plus by stealing Castro's oil, you're going to upset Chavez, and Venezuela is very rich in Oil. With the growing trend of Bolivarism in South America, upsetting Cuba is not a wise move.

Also the thing with having a big meeting to propose new sources of fuel is that most countries have vested interests. America has all these oil companies who are making huge profits. OPEC are making tonnes of money as well, the same with the Russians. It would be unlikely that anything would come of it.
