I sleep too much....

For years I've been running on sooo little sleep since late High School years throughout college. I think I average about 5-6 hours of sleep. Sure I lie in bed for way more than that, but it's usually in teh morning where I'll just lay in bed after the alarm goes off and I look at the ceiling from 8AM - 2PM when I have to get up and go to class.

Yes I do sleep a lot. I probably sleep around 9-10 hours when I have nothing going on the next morning. I always wonder if I am just making up for lost sleeping time since I only get about 3-4 hours of sleep when I have school. But over Spring Break this seems to not be the case since I still slept about 9-10 hours. :O

On a random note. I remember the time I fell asleep at 4 pm on a friday and did not wake up till noon the next day. :O If I had slept for four more hours I would have been asleep for 24 hours!

Most of the time i just sleep between 4 and 6 hours.

Only on rare weekends (like the this last one) i could get the 8-9 hrs of sleep that was supposed to be the average.

WOW Rydia. XD
I don't think it's possible to sleep for 24 hours...I have slept for maybe...16 before, but...I was being reeeeally lazy. Even if I went to sleep at 4pm, I would still wake up in the middle of the night after I got enough sleep. XD

Well the probability of a human being sleeping for 24 hours it's very little, though it's possible. I am not sure, maybe I should look for some information.;)

The past week Iv actually been sleeping quite well, I dunno if myantibiotics but I seem to be sleeping better :wacky:

No doubt Il be back to my usual insomniac self by next week tho <_<

On Thursday, a guy in my speech class did his persuasive speech on things we can do to make our lives healthier and longer, and he mentioned something I felt was worth mentioning here.

Here's a reason not to hit the snooze button anymore: Sleeping too much can reduce life expectancy, according to a February 2002 study in the Archives of General Psychiatry. The study found that people who sleep more than eight hours per night had a significantly higher death rate than normal. But late-night-party-goers shouldn't rejoice: researches say that sleeping less than four hours also increases death rates. People who sleep between six and seven hours per night were shown to live the longest.

Taken from Forbes. I suppose that would explain why lots of people tend to feel more tired if they get over 8 hours of sleep, it must fuck with your body somehow.

Well, that's funny. I normally sleep 6 hours, and I thought that was short. It's just the way my body normal regulates itself though. I can't really force myself to sleep for only 3 hours. I'd oversleep. And I can't stay asleep for too long. I'd be trying to sleep but not getting unconscious.

I've done it.

I have sleep offs, who can sleep longest. So far I hold the record, 25 hours and a half.
Wow, impressive. My friend holds the record for us with 21 hours.

Now that I have two weeks off I'll probably be sleeping until 2pm every day, although I reeeaally shouldn't, as I have to spend the hols doing insane studying for exams. :wacky:

I think that depends on your age, though. I read a study that suggested that teens 12 to 17 should get 10 hours of sleep every night, since that's the point in their life where they need the most energy.

Seriously? Man, I actually only sleep 8 hours a day, maybe even less. I simply cannot wake up after 8 in the morning. I don't sleeping too much, of course most of the time I got to sleep at 10 and wake up at 6. There are times when I get a really good night sleep and wake up like at 7:45.

Iv slept pretty well these past couple of days which is a sodding MIRACLE I tell you. I went to bed at MIDNIGHT last night. I was well impressed with myself. Altho, it was quite restless, took me a while to drop off and I kept waking up I do actually feel really well rested for once

The night before, that was another 3am jobbie but I didn't get up til half one the following afternoon and I slept like a log. I think Im beginning to catch up on my sleep

Altho, Ivworked out why I was so warm last night (and probably sleepy haha) I left my heating onconstant by accident :wacky: It got me in bed early though, I might try that more often
