The point of this thread is really both to bash Rihanna and vote for your favourite cover version xD They're the most popular artists I managed to find so they're going in the poll =)
Every single one of these cover versions are MILES better than Rihanna's version --the original-- and so it just goes to show how if you have even the SLIGHTEST bit of musical know-how, you can make any song work.
 
Ugh!!!!! I hate Rihanna's Umbrella! I can't stand the 'brella, ella, ella'... SHUT UP!!!!! It's so untalented, and I hate songs that repeat words.
Mandy Moore's cover is so much nicer. She has a better voice imo. :dry:
 
The Song "Umbrella" was originally written by Ne-yo for Mary J. Blidge, but she turned it down after she heared Rihanna really liked it. M.J.B woulda made it sound a hell of a lot better. And Lauren Hill woulda killed that joint, no doubt.

You forgot to add Chris Brown's version, Riku.

Though he did change the lyrics a bit.

I'm not really keen on any other versions.

I listened to half of the first one. I cant abide that song at all. What is the point in all that ella ella buisiness. It REALLY gets my back up. Can there be an option for I hate them all? That song would sound crap no matter who sung it. I dont think I have ever hated a song so passionately.
 
I'd rather heard M.J.B. Sing this song it shoulda been hers.. it woulda have been a megahit. *nods* She has the voice for it, Rihanna sounds annoying.

They were all equally crap, so I vote for should never be aired again. Unless Dimmu Borgir played it.

I strongly disagree, I like this song because its an anthem of loyalty.
What better way to tell someone you're there for em' other than "stand under my umbrella." Cuz we all know life is just a big storm.
It's a good song for that. As a matter of fact think I'll play it now.
