-=Seclusion: The Xandria Journey=-
-Part I: Homeward Bound-

Crysta. To the locals, the city was just a simple city that is filled with its own comings and goings. To outsiders, it was a city of great bustle, known for the statues in the center of each square in the city. (Except for the statue in front of the clinic, of course.) In the center of town (between the market square and a square dedicated to restaurants and pubs) sat a pair of squares for some of the higher-paying jobs in town. These squares were made only for the guilds in the town. Just about any guild from the Ranger's Guild to the Necromancer's Guild to the Warrior's Guild could be found here.

In the square for non-magical guilds, the center adorned with the statue of a scrawny man with blades sticking out of his gloves (Silsorn the Cutter, so he was named), two neighboring guilds (one for mercenaries and one for bounty hunters) had recently merged together. The leaders of the guilds figured they both do the same job, so might as well form a connection between the buildings which just happened to join the Bounty Hunter's Guild's bar and the Mercenary's Guild's pub. It is still either the Bounty Hunter's Guild or the Mercenary's Guild (depending on who you ask), but that was not important.

Nowadays, competition for jobs and bounties were fierce. It wasn't easy for members from either side of the newly merged guild to get a decent paying job. Most of the jobs priced at 1,000 gold coins and beyond were taken by the quick ones. This was a bit of a bother for Shenorai Eterna, for none of the lower-paying bounties really caught her eye.

Save one.

Shenorai came across a bounty that was posted up for the price of 750 gold and silver coins. But it wasn't the price that made her accept the bounty. It was the location. The flyer for the bounty read;

-=Help Wanted=-
A small party is requested to remove demons
from a small village. A party of at least four is
recommended. Please bring this flyer to the
village of Xandria to receive complete information.
Fighting experience may be required.
Reward; 750 each in gold and silver.

Shenorai was born in the village of Xandria. The village itself wasn't all that famous, considering it was a region of farms isolated at the edge of a forest. Shen didn't like the idea of returning to her hometown, but it didn't seem like anyone else was taking the bounty. Not that she knew of anyone in the guild who had any demon experience to take up the little extermination job.

She ripped the flier off of the bulliten board and walked towards the local pub, reading it over once or twice to make sure she didn't misread it. What kind of demons would bother with such a small village? she thought to herself. As she pushed the door to the pub open, she didn't seem to take her eyes off of the flier. Her feet carried her to a booth seat in the corner and she absentmindedly sat down, her mind dwelling in deep pools of thought.

"...Xandria...it's been, what, five years?" Shen quietly asked to what seemed like no one.
Sounds about right, responded a feminine voice in her head. Are you sure you want to go back, though?
"...I dunno," she barely whispered. Her voice seemed to trail off as her mind wandered into the past. She wasn't even sure if Xandria would be the same as she left it...with the exception of the demons, of course.

Slader rode up to the large doors of Crysta, that seperated himself from the bustling city, on his black motorcycle. He watched as people passed him, going in and out of the city. It had been years since he had seen this door, hell if it didn't seem so sissy like, he would've started crying. He was finally back. After a four year voyage of trying to return home, he was finally back. Slader had originally left Crysta on a mission to support a samurai nation waging war against another samurai nation. This event eventually sprouted to him having to serve as a pirate under a famous pirate lord, then being taken to the underworld where he traveled with a werewolf cursed man to fight an underworld warrior to free himself and the werewolf from eternal damnation. But all of this is another story. He was finally home again.

Slader got off his motorcycle and shut it down, taking the keys and putting them in his left front pocket. Walking with a crowd of people, he entered the city, then stopped to be greeted with a glorious memory of his past. The last time he had been in this city he was twenty one years old. Questions ran through his mind; would his wife still be waiting for him, would he still have his appartment in the Mercenary/Bounty Hunter's guild, is the bar open? A voice in his head stopped him from getting any more lost in his thoughts, "You know it's doesn't end well when you think that hard. Just go and see!" It was Zonde`, the "oh so lovable" elf demon that shared Slader's body with him. He was right though, Slader needed to go and see what had changed since he left, and right away. But first he was going to stop at the bar.

Realizing that Zonde` was right, Slader walked his motorcycle through the busy city of Crysta. He had arrived in the Market square and needed to get to the non-magical guild square, so he would need to go straight to get to the exit of this square, that would lead to the clinic square, where he would go the right to get to the non magical guilds square. Simple enough for him to remember and easy to get to. And so Slader walked his bike in the path that he remembered, constantly looking around the city in awe like it was his first time there. Eventually after walking his set path he was greeted by the statue of good ol' Silscorn the Cutter. Slader smiled as he looked up at the statue, "Long time no see! How you been Cutter?" Slader chuckled, making him seem more like a crazy person then some one happy to be home. He looked towards the direction of the guild he called home many years ago, "Time to see if the pubs open!"

Slader walked to guild with excitement, he was so eager to see if anything had changed he could barely stand it (though it was more likely he was eager to finally get that first beer of the day). He walked his motorcycle to a stable where people kept their means of transportation; whether it be horse, bike or buggy. Putting it's kick stand up and locking the motorcycle, Slader nearly was running to the pub. He felt like he was a kid about to open a present on his birth day (I don't say christmas for two reasons: 1. some people don't celebrate christmas, and 2. because the holidays they share there are a little different from our own universe's). Upon entering the guild Slader, completely ignored the bulletin board of work, he would have plenty of time to work now that he was back and went straight to the place that he held most dear, the pub!

The pub was just as he remembered it. Not being able to hold back his joy anymore, a tear rolled down his left eye as he spotted a keg of beer. As he walked to the bar he noticed something rather strange, some one was sitting in his seat at the bar. Slader walked up to the man sitting on his stool and tapped him on the shoulder, "Excuse me," he started, "but you're sitting in my seat." The man turned his head, then turned away and took another sip of his beverage. Slader tapped him on the shoulder again, "I'm sorry, maybe you didn't hear me, but you're sitting in my seat." The man in his seat stood up and faced Slader. He must have been at least a foot taller then Slader, and as he looked down at the smiling Slader he slowly pulled out a knife from it's scabbard on his belt and eyed him. Slader watched as the man pulled out the knife then asked, "Can you please move, you're stopping me from getting a refreshing beer and I really need one right now."

The man, now tired of Slader, quickly made a move to cut Slader's throat. Slader stopped the man with a block of his arm, then grabbed his wrist and twisted it. The man dropped his knife in pain, then looked at Slader with a glare and attempted to kick Slader in the more...sensitive area. Slader took a side step and twisted the man's wrist some more. Slader's elbow was now in a good position for the man to break his arm. Predicting that the man was going to break his arm, or at least attempt, Slader quickly elbowed him in the face with his free arm, then grabbed the man's arm that was already being held and threw him behind Slader, making him land and break the table behind them. As the room got a little more quiet (it didn't get completely quiet since some were talking about it, and it wasn't rare for this to happen in that bar) Slader nodded with a smile, then got into what he likes to call his "hero" pose and shouted, "I'm Slader A. Preston III and I have returned. Let it be knownst to you all, that the GREATEST MERCENARY OF ALL TIME HAS RETURNED TO CRYSTA!" And with that Slader sat down at his usual bar stool and looked up at the bartender with a smile, who was shocked (but not that shocked) to see him and he asked the usual question, "Beer, right Slader?"

Once the sound of splitting wood crashing on the floor was heard, Shen lifted her head dully to see who just had their ass handed to them this time. Looks like it was ol' Butch again. Seems like this was a bad week for him at the pub. Just a couple days ago, he was thrown out of the bar for trying to steal the heart of a not-so-patient woman with a very nasty-looking flail. Wasn't exactly a pretty fight.

The victor, however, was someone that she had never seen around these parts. Yet he was strangely familiar. Especially that sword...where had she seen it before?

Once the victor announced himself, she gawked at him. This is Slader? This is what has become of her old friend? Who would've thought that her childhood friend would've ended up in Crysta, of all places? Or rather, who would've thought that she would've ended up here? From the sound of it, Slader beat her to Crysta.

Shen picked up the flier and walked over to the seat beside him. Seemed like after that fight, whoever was sitting beside Butch had left that seat. She saw no harm in taking it up, since there wasn't anyone sitting there. Shen leaned on the bar and shot a sideways glance at Slader.

"It's been a long time, old friend," she smiled, hoping that he would at least recognize her. But just to be certain, she added, "How's Zonde` doin'?"

Slader sat patiently waiting for his beer, when he suddenly noticed that a young woman, not that much younger then himself had come up and sat down next to him. Of course being a macho stud and showing his strength from that little incident, Slader had impressed the girl and she wanted him all to herself. He smirked a little as he thought to himself, "Slader you irresistable dog, you. Just remember you have a wife." Zonde`'s voice soon echoed in his mind, "You're right you do have a wife. Do you remember her? She's more a reason to cheat then anything else!" Slader shook his head, "Be quiet Zonde`....though you are right." Before he could argue with Zonde` anymore the woman spoke to him.

"It's been a long time, old friend," the woman smiled. Slader figured this was some sort of a pick up line so he got ready to reject her, but then she spoke again, "How's Zonde` doin'?" Slader unconciously responded with a smile, "Sorry lady, I'm married, and he's fine. You know him..." and then he realized what he was just asked. He turned to her with wide eyes. It couldn't be, could it? "Shenorai!?" He could barely believe his eyes. She had grown up so much since he had last seen her.

Slader nearly jumped out of his seat he was so excited (he didn't though, he still had a beer that had yet to come). "I can't believe you're here! Of all places too! Wow, how long has it been? What, nearly ten years I'd say." Before he could become any more excited or giving her the chance to say something, the bartender returned with Slader's beer and sat it down infront of him. Slader pulled out five bronze coins and placed it on the counter. As Slader reached for the beer his hand was stopped by the bartender, "It's ten bronze coins now." Slader sighed and pulled out five more bronze coins and placed them on the counter. He picked up his beer as he muttered to himself, "Stupid inflation". He quickly chugged the pint of beer and slammed it on the counter top, "One more barkeep!"

He turned back to Shenorai and wiped his upper lip with his gauntlet. Before he could ask her anymore questions he noticed a flier in her hand. Slader looked back up at her face and raised his right eye brow. "What you taking missions too now?" he asked her as he reached into his pocket to get out a silver coin (since it would be easier to pay with fewer silver coins the more bronze ones).

".. Seems that the Braver Soul gets heavier and heavier, everytime
I drag it along with me.", Toukleth thought as he looked through the
dark fog of Black Forest. The trees where as dark as shadows. His
silver eyes gazed through all that was pitch black. He barely turned
his head to the left, as he heard the bustling bushes.

Unsheathing his Undefeated Heart, he keeps his ears open. Watching
his environment with persisant glances. He knew something was coming,
but what was it was, he wasn't so sure. Putting his thumb on the hilt,
and gritting his teeth. Toukleth was preparing for the worst.

"Whoever you are, show yourself. Or I will prepare to kill you.",
The bushes rustling worsened. Until a man finally emerged. He had a
tall figure, dark face, and wore a dark cloak. Toukleth stared at the
man, of course the man had to wear unoriginal clothing. The man
spoke, "So, you're the young Assassin people have been talking
about. They say you're inhuman." Of course, he was labeled as
inhuman. It was nothing different to him, every town or village knew
of his deadly talents. They gave him ignorant labels, such as an
inhuman monster who cares not about feelings, but death.

He gave the man in the cloak a death look. Toukleth, after two
years decided to finally open his mouth. "Yes, I am the young
Assassin. But please, don't be as stupid as to talk to me in that
tone. You're sealing your death wish that way. My suggestion
is to leave me alone, so I can go to my destination."

"Interesting, so you are truely him. You are the Unforgiven.
Where are you going? You can't find your way through this
fog my young friend.", said the man. Unfortunately to Toukleth,
but he was right. Toukleth had been lost for two weeks, trying to
find his way out. He thought if he would just press forward, he
would find himself at Crysta. "You're right.. I guess I have need
of your services. But please, tell me your name."

The man kept silent, until he took off his cloak and put on a berret.
"I have no name, but a codename. Codename Slyfox, I am the one
who guides those who are lost in the forest out. For a small fee, of
course." Toukleth, had quite a bit of money. From doing small missions,
mostly stealth kills and espionage. Nothing really fancy, anything that
could get him money to live. For food and supplies. He unsheathed his
weapon, and then hands Slyfox about 500 gold coins, and then spoke
in a gentle voice. "This is all I have left, please, take me out of here
and into the city of Crysta." Slyfox nodded, and then turned. "Follow
me, it isn't too far my Assassin friend. I'll need you to protect me, they
say there are monsters and demons lurking around here. I'll give you
about 300 gold coins back. Ok?"

The Assassin nodded, and then reached into his pocket. Taking out a
Steely. "Yes, that'll be fine. It'll be enough for lodgeing at Crysta
and a little bit of food. I'll be happy to protect you my good sir."
Slyfox smiled, and then motioned his hand to the left. As if he was
pointing somewhere. Toukleth took notice, and then followed the man.
It seemed Slyfox was in the Ranger's attire. It usually consisted of
a green berret, dark green shouldermail, light green camoflauge
undershirt, and dark green pants with black steel toed boots. The
Ranger's hair was long and somehow very elegant of how it swayed
as he walked. It was dark, so he wasn't very sure of the color of
his hair.

An odd combination, a deathly Assassin with very polite and
mature manners. It was odd, it seemed that he had what many
others would call "honor".

"It'd be eight years, come January," she corrected. Since it her thirteenth birthday was the last time she saw him, it was rather easy to keep track.

Before she answered any of his questions, the barkeep cleared his throat and asked the young bounty hunter, "Hey Shen, you want anything?"
Shen just waved her hand carelessly as she said, "I'll just have my usual, Ben."
As Ben walked off, Shen was already fishing a silver piece out of her coin purse. Apparently, she's visited the pub long enough to have a usual here. She gave a nod to Slader, in response for his last question.

"Yep. I've been working as a bounty hunter for oh...nearly five years, now. Keeps the bread on the table and the bills paid, at least. After all, I'm not a kid anymore," she smirked.

A steam whistle was heard not too far off, but was quickly silenced. Within minutes, Ben returned with Slader's second beer and a steaming cup sitting on a saucer. They serve tea in this pub? Apparently so. However, to the majority of the hunters and mercenaries around them, this wasn't anything too out of the ordinary. Shen nodded her thanks to the bartender and left her silver coin beside her heated beverage before taking a long sip of it. Considering autumn was soon coming to an end, a nice hot drink is rather refreshing.

Once she swallowed her tea, Shen looked at Slader and asked the first question that came to mind when he had first talked to her. "...since when have you been married? I didn't think you'd be the type to have a wife already."

Shenorai had corrected his mistake, eight years. It had been eight years since he left his home town in search for a new life as a bounty hunter, four of those eight years Slader spent not even on a job, but merely trying to get home from one. How ever long it had infact been, Slader was glad to finally be re-united with his childhood friend.

Before she could respond to any of his excited questions, the barkeep had come back and asked her what she wanted. Shenorai, with the wave of her hand just said "my usual" and he was gone again to retrieve it. Apparently, Shenorai was as active in this bar as he was before he left. He was impressed (though he also was expecting her to have ordered an alcoholic beverage). As she reached into her little purse, getting ready to pay Ben, the barkeep, she answered his last question (the mission taking one) with a simple nod. She too was working in the guild, and had been for some time, five years in fact. Almost the same time as Slader had been absent.

Ben returned with Shenorai's drink, which to Slader was disappointingly just tea, and Slader's beer. Placing his silver coin on the bar counter a little after Shenorai had, she took a long sip of her tea before she asked the question he was hoping she would've forgotten about in the excitement, his wife.

Slader took a couple gulps of his beer before responding to her. "Oh, it was one of those...unexpected weddings. Just...kinda happened, I suppose you could say." He kept his voice low when he talked about his wife, not because he wanted to seem single, but because he was always paranoid that she was around. Slader didn't not love her, but he always appeared to. Deep down he knew he loved her, it was just hard to explain his feelings about her. He cleared his throught, "She's just a little...different, I guess you could say." Ben the barkeep, now standing infront of Slader with a smile chuckled, "You talking about Lucina? Yeah, she comes in everynow and then asking if you're hiding from her. Says she hasn't been able to catch you around for nearly five years. She's not going to be happy when she finds you're finally back. We just told her you hadn't found the time to come home." Slader sighed, "Why couldn't you just tell her I was dead?!" Ben laughed, "Me and the boys thought it'd be funnier this way when you came back."

Slader scratched his forehead, then took another few gulps of his beer. Knowing that he didn't have much money left from his fighting in the war and his pirating days, he needed to get some money. Even though he had just come back from his voyage, he needed to get going again if he was going to support himself and his wife. He changed the subject from his wife, still slightly paranoid, to current jobs. "So, any new and exciting jobs around lately?" Slader remembered the flier in her hand and looked down at it, "Apparently at least one has sparked your interest." Nodding to the paper, "What's it for and how much?"

It had been several months since Lucius' imprisonment within the chaotic realm, several months since Lucius' sacrificed himself for his loved one's safety. After the battle with Julius and his friends inside the Castle Destruction, Lucius was able to free himself from the grip of the dark entity regaining his sanity for a short period of time and thus the dark entity and Lucius were separated. The dark entity attempted to possess Lucius' loved one, a young woman that showed him that there was still hope for him.
Almost four months later, Lucius' sacrifice was not clearly understood by most of the people that knew him as a monster, and his reasons remain unknown.

Julius arrived to the commercial city of Crysta, hoping to meet with an old friend after eight years of being apart from each other. Julius looked like a young 19 years old man, though he was actually 26. Due to his elven blood, his aging was decreased significantly. Also his brother's imprisonment made him immortal, because for as long as his brother lived, so will Julius' existence continue to be.

He was wearing long black white coat over his black overcoat and a silk white shirt underneath with a red ribbon around his neck. He had a silver necklace on that had his family's emblem, a shield held by angel wings and dragon claws with the letter "S" carved on the middle of the shield. His pants were black made of cotton and strong ring black boots that had small silver plates attached to protect his feet. Julius also had a light mythril chain suit underneath protecting his body. He kept walking through the city, leaderless and without a purpose to his presence here. His only hopes were to find a familiar place in the city. The dark alleyways served him as lonely for him to relax, since Julius always hated too crowed areas.

After wandering for a few minutes, he found himself in the middle of the central plaza, before a beautiful a fountain and a ever green garden. He extended his arm to pick one of the roses and place it on the left pocket of his white long coat, really close to his heart.

Julius always loved roses and considered them as one of the many wonders that nature can offer. Julius sat on a wooden bench near the fountain and remained silent admiring the scenario.

"I wonder if I'll find Shenorai here. Who knows, maybe I'll end up finding something good for me to do."

Her expression faded once the new flier was mentioned. With a sigh, she turned the paper and slid it in Slader's direction. Apparently, it was something that she felt she was taking not out of will, but out of necessity. Her eyes had dropped to the flier as it was read over by Slader.

"Demon slaying, seven-hundred and fifty in gold and silver. Though whether that's the total amount or how much each of us is being paid, I've no clue."

Shen returned to sipping her tea. She never said the location, since (to her, at least) it sounded bitter every time the name rolled off her tongue. In fact, it seemed to be making her tea a little bitter. Or, what's left of it, rather. She nearly drained the entire cup before setting it down again.

"You could come with me, if you want. The flier asks for a group of four, but I wouldn't mind having your company as well."

She managed a weak smile after saying that, though just thinking of going back home wasn't too appealing for her. If she went back, she'd have to confront her family after running away from them...if they'd accept her, of course. It's likely that she'll have to see the elders as well. If anything, she hoped the ones she knew were long since dead by now.

Sheeeen, a voice in her mind called out for her. Shen, are you listening? Slader's talking to you.
Shen snapped back to reality and apologized, "Sorry...you were saying?" Apparently, he was trying to get her attention as well.

After asking about the flier, Shenorai's facial expression changed. She didn't appear to be happy anymore, upset was a better word to describe how she looked. With a sigh she slid the peice of paper over to Slader. Taking it up and reading it, Slader could see why her expression changed the way that it did. The mission took place in their home town, Xandria.

Shenorai finally spoke after Slader was done reading the flier. "Demon slaying, seven-hundred and fifty in gold and silver. Though whether that's the total amount or how much each of us is being paid, I've no clue." Slader shrugged at this statement. There was two reasons that he didn't care about how much money he was being payed (which is highly unusual for Slader). Any amount of money would be helpful to him at this time, and he knew that his friend Shenorai wouldn't cheat him of his share. The other reason he didn't care about the amount of money, was because he wasn't going to go for the money. It was Shenorai and his own home town, and it was their duty, being able to fight demons, to go and protect their village and family.

Shen appeared to be uncomfortable about the situation. Apparently she was really worried about the village; Slader had never seen that look on her face before. It almost looked like she was disgusted with the mission. Slader only picked up his beer and gulped the rest of it down as he watched Shenorai finish her tea uneasy.

She broke the silence after they were both done with their drinks. "You could come with me, if you want. The flier asks for a group of four, but I wouldn't mind having your company as well." Slader smiled at this remark, "Hey," he started up, "I wouldn't let you go out there all by yourself to take on those demons. Me and Zonde` have your back, right buddy?" He didn't respond. Zonde` never cared too much for Shenorai or her spirit, Leondra. After waiting a second for him to respond, but not getting anything out of him, Slader continued, "Counting Leondra and Zonde`, we are technically a group of four different spirits. Let's just hope that's enough, eh Shen?"

After she had told Slader that he could tag along, she seemed to have zoned out. Slader smirked, "Don't worry Shen, I'm sure the Elders and our family will be happy to see we came to their aid. Let's just hope they're all till alive and okay, huh?" Slader gave a chuckle, and yet he got no response from her. He gave a small sigh, "She must be REALLY upset, huh Zonde`" Zonde` finally spoke up again, "You know they are all dead. Demons won't come to a village and let anyone live after an attack." Slader rolled his eyes, "You aren't helping Zonde`, let's just try to be positive here! Zonde`'s voice gave a small chuckle and finished with the words, "You're the vessel." With that their discussion was over and Slader looked back at Shenorai who now was asking what he was just talking about.

Slader just gave a smirk and put his hand on her shoulder, "I need to go check on the Mrs. I'll meet you outside in about fifteen minutes. Just got to tell her I'm alive and leaving." He took his hand off her shoulder, "Just cheer up Shen. Everything'll be fine." Slader got off his stool and walked out of the bar and to the stairs that would lead to possibly his ultimate doom, being reunited with his wife after four years.

"Don't be late," she called after him before downing the last few drops of her tea.

Shenorai turned the empty cup upside-down and nudged the saucer forward, signifying that she was finished. As she stared at the counter, her eyes drifted towards the flier that was sitting in front of Slader's seat. Her fingers reached over and gently picked up the flier by its edge. Shen only skimmed it over a little before folding it up and stuffing it in her pocket.

Standing up, Shen walked out of the bar and into the chilled autumn air. Sure, the pub wasn't a bad spot to wait, but chance are, Ben the barkeep overheard them and she didn't want to risk having questions asked her way. It wasn't quite midday yet, but the streets of the Guild Square were still as busy as they usually are. All sorts of warriors and fighters and marksmen and the like crossed the square to get to wherever they needed.

In the center of the square was crazy ol' Silsorn, larger than life and made of stone. In a circle around the statue's base were several benches. Shen went on ahead and sat on one of those benches, facing her guild and awaiting patiently.

Fifteen minutes out in the open air...at least Slader was worth the wait.

Tired of waiting, Julius stood up from the bench and ventured himself once again into the city. His hair fell over the left side of his face and moved from left to right with each step he made. As he walked through the city, he noticed a scrap of paper being moved gently by the wind. The paper fell before his feet and he bend his knees to reach the paper. It seems that it was a flier of some sort but sadly it was barely legible.

*Hunt.....demon........silver.... gold...reward.....go to...*

Julius sighed and and tossed the flier, resuming his exploration through the city. He suddenly found himself before the very doors of the Dungeon Crawlers Guild, an organization that he was once part of. Wishing not to be recognized, he took his black scarf and placed it around his neck and face, leaving only his eyes and part of his forehead exposed. He knew that one of the guild members would easily recognize him as Julius Silverwing, the head of the Silverwing Clan but since he desired to remain anonymous, he covered his face.

Of course, if Shenorai were here she would easily tell he was Julius due to the fact that she knows Julius' swordsmanship skills because of the battle they fought last year.

A man in a white trench coat and dark brown hair crossed Shenorai's line of sight as he walked over to another guild that she was a part of. Considering how far the Dungeon Crawlers have expanded (distance wise, of course), another branch of the guild was opened here in Crysta. It was rather convenient for her, since the original Dungeon Crawlers was nowhere near a bounty hunter's guild.

Out of boredom, she watched the young man walk to the guild and obscure his face in a scarf. Why was he hiding himself before going in? Was this someone who was going to steal something from the guild?

Figuring she could catch this one fairly quickly, Shen stood up from the bench and drew closer to the guild, keeping her gaze to his heels if he was to turn and look in her direction. Once he entered the building, Shen followed suit a few moments later. As the young man was observing the building, the bounty hunter caught sight of something she knew only one man would carry on him openly.

A rose.

She realized who this man was, attire and build and everything. With a slight shake of the head, Shen walked over and stood behind him.

"That rose is a little obvious, Julius," she noted in a low tone. She only guessed that he was hiding himself due to his political status, so she did him the favor of not announcing his presence to the world.

He kept on his toes, as the fog became thicker. Thick as pea
soup, many would say. Although, sometimes people were stupid
enough to actually try to get a knife to cut through the fog. None
the less, his visibility didn't get any better. It seemed the Ranger
knew where he was going however. Rangers were known for their
legendary tracking skills, and their expertise in the bow. Toukleth
heard rumors, that they could hit a target from a mile away.

A few hours later, the Ranger finally got the Assassin out of the
forest and into the city of Crysta. The view was vast and glorious,
he only heard stories of the big city. Seeing that everyone in his
city never ventured off this far on their own. The streets were
bustling with all kinds of Merchants. People had to make some
kind of living.

He walked for a few minutes in the big city, he was lost even
worse in this city than the forest. The wind started to pick up,
and a flier hit him in the face. Toukleth took it off his face and
started to read it. "Looking for a party of four, to hunt down
the demons in Xandria. Reward is 700 gold coins." The young
assassin smiled widely for the first time in ages. Looks like he
finally caught a break, and decided to go to the guild square.

Slader walked up the stairs, almost feeling like he was walking to his hanging. It wasn't going to be easy to explain to her what he had gone through, or that he'd be leaving in less then half an hour. He wasn't sure how she was going to react exactly to the news; only knowing that she wouldn't be happy about it. As he reached the top of the stairs and walked down the corridor to his apartment, his heart rate was beating faster and faster. Slader, finally, was at his front door. Although he was terrified about what would happen to him once he entered that one bed room apartment, he was actually excited to see how she had changed (if at all), and releaved that he was finally home. He twisted the door knob, the door was unlocked. Slowly opening the door, Zonde' spoke to Slader in a serious tone, "If you can't beat her on your own, just ask and I'll lend you a hand" Slader smirked and walked into his home and shut the door behind him.

Surprisingly to Slader, everything looked the same. It appeared that Lucina had kept everything in order and the same for his return. A small smile came across his face, it seemed that his wife really did love him. Slader walked to his counter and sat down on a stool. Sitting there, he began to wonder where she had gone to. Did she assume that he was dead, ignoring the obvious lies Ben the barkeep and fellow bar patrons had told her? A few minutes passed before anything happened, but then she came home.

As she walked into their home, Slader gave a smirk (thinking all would be fine for some odd reason) as he called out to her, "Finally home huh? I've been waiting for at least a good five minutes." She had stopped dead in her tracks in shock. Slader got off his stool and took a good look at his wife. There are only a few words to describe how she looked to the sound of his voice, the most relevant word of course, would be enraged. Lucina was as tempermental as her mother, and almost as strong as her ogre like brother.

For the first couple of minutes Lucina only glared at Slader. Neither one of them moving; her because of rage, and himself out of fear. Zonde` quietly spoke to Slader, "Go for the window. You have a better chance living through the fall then this." As Slader contemplated the time it would take for him to reach the window, and how pissed off she was; Lucina finally spoke. "Where...have....you...BEEN?!" In the blink of an eye, she was on her knees with her arms wrapped around his waist as she broke out into tears. Slader was shocked, he knew that she was going to miss him, but not this much. Before he could have said a word to comfort her, Slader was being lifted up above her. Her mood has changed once again, and she was back to being furious with him. The only thing that came to his mind as his petite wife now standing and holding him over her head was, "I should have never bought those damn weights." And with a quick throw to the wall, Slader lieing on the ground looked up at his wife, who at this point had grabbed a near by chair and was ready to continue killing Slader. Slader raised his hand and held up five fingers, "Five minutes, then you can kill me. Just be sure to cremate my body when you're done. I'd like my ashes spread out in the forest close to my home town." She sneered at Slader, "We'll take care of that after your five minutes"

Once explaining to her what had happened, and that it wasn't on purpose but a series of unfortunate events, one after the other. Changing back to her more sentimental persona, she was happy to see him once more and more or less decided not to kill him that day. The two had a little bit of alone time together (not much, he had to rush to get back to Shenorai) and then he was all ready to go.

Slader sat on his couch, thinking of a way to tell his wife that he was leaving again. Before being able to think of a good way to tell her, she walked out of their bedroom and smiled at him. He turned his head and looked over his should to look her in the eyes. There was only one way he was going to be able to do this. Slader took a deep breath and spoke as fast as he could and making his words run together,"I have to go back on the road again because my home town has been taken over by a bunch of demons, and myself, along with my best friend who also lived in the village with me named Shenorai and possibly two more people have to go and stop them from completely destorying the place."

He panted for a moment then spoke again, "So can I go?" Lucina looked at him with an eyebrow raised and then shrugged, "Yeah, sure, why not." Slader gave a smile to her, and she returned one. Walking back into the bed room for a second then coming back out with one of his spare swords in her hands and fire in her eyes. Slader stood up and gave one last small smile as he darted for the door screaming "LOVE YOU, GOTTA GO!" Slader opened the door, jumped to the side to barely avoid being hit by the sword then slowly closed the door. Slader stood up and dusted himself off as he looked at the sword Lucina had thrown, which was now stuck in their neighbors door. "At least it's not one of my better swords." And with that Slader walked down the corridor and to the stairs to continue his adventure.

Julius was surprised. Though he knew that Shen could easily recognize him, he never thought that she would do it so quickly. He sighed, stepped up and walked forward and slowly leaning his back against one of the trees that could be found around the fountain. He quickly turned his sight to Shenorai, and smiled.

"Yes, it seems that this little obsession of mine always makes my identity quite easy to discover. In the future, I'll make sure to be more careful."

He paused, remaining silent for a few minutes and turning his sight towards the sky, then to the fountain and finally back to Shenorai's eyes.

"So how have you been?"

The smile the bounty hunter gave was rather weak.

"I've been better," she said as her hand dug into her pocket. She produced the folded flier, handing it to her friend. If she was going to invite him to come along with her, she might as well do it now.

"Have you ever been to Xandria?" she asked, giving him a moment to read over the flier before continuing. "I found an old friend of mine just a few minutes ago. I know he's already coming with me."
Speaking of which...you should get back out to the square before you keep Slader waiting for too long, Leondra noted.
