I'm pretty surprised that no one has made a thread about this yet seeing as it's pretty big news to some people. But the site has been down, so meh...

Anyway, I'm sure most of you are aware of what Chris Benoit did last weekend, but for those who don't know I'll enlighten you. Chris Benoit (former WWE wrestler) took time off work, for 'personal' issues with his family. It turned out that he had killed his wife Nancy, and son Daniel, and then himslef afterwards.

Now I haven't followed wrestling at all for some years now, but this still came as a shock to me. I know that you can't judge an actor by the character they play, but I still wouldn't really have expected this from him. But I have no respect for someone who does such a thing. I don't understand how someone could kill those people who they love and play such a big part in their life. I certainly know I couldn't.

And now, I'd say that he should "burn in hell etc." or something, but I don't believe in an after life, so he's just going to be another one who's six feet under. But if there is anything after death, I hope he gets the worst of it.
 
I'd like to say I'm shocked to hear this kind of thing, but I almost expected this from him. I too have not followed wrestling for a number of years, but I distinctly remember what he was like. Yes, I know wrestling's fake, but he didn't seem top be 'acting' the entire time.


Alas, this is (was) a sick deed. I'd rather not wish someone to hell and such, but I'll say good riddance to him. Just a shame he tooks others with him.
 
Okay, when i was a young 'un...around 7 or so years ago, I spose, I was an avid wrestling fan. I went to the live events, I saw the payperviews, every monday and thursday I was in front of my tv, watching nitro and thunder (go wcw). Not so much anymore, but Benoit was HUGE then. All Star huge. Top 10 wrestler huge. Eventual hall of fame huge. In real sport translation, this is bigger than OJ Simpson's case...this would be like David Beckham killing that spice girl, adopting a retarded baby, killing that, and committing suicide. Kids of our generation used to IDOLIZE this guy...straight up IDOLIZE. Kids still have his action figures and T-shirts in his closet. And now he's behind a murder suicide. Crazy world we live in. Crazy world.

EDIT: Hell Razer, take that shit out of your profile. Seriously. He killed his wife and retarded son. He does not deserve a tribute anywhere, even if it is a 12 year old's, who obviously doesn't realize the implications of what occured, sig.

No. He was my favourite wrestler, so i have a right to tribute him on my sig, fuck u fields.

I never knew his son was retarted :dry:, but he was preety argessive, you could tell he took steroids, thats what made him argessive that could of obviously been a reason for him temper.
 
As far as the WWE is concerned Chris Benoit is no more...if you go to their home page wwe.com you will see they deleted almost everything related to him!

I have no simpathy for him however...he was one of my favourite wrestlers but considering what he did how can anyone pity him?

He killed his wife, a day later kills his son and then kills himself the man is a murderer no matter how good of a wrestler he was!

And his son had some problems...but i don´t think retard is the right term...it was more of a growing problem and even if he had mental problems that would not give his father the right to kill him!

Whether or not he was your favourite, you have to understand that he became a savage murderer. Some people may take offence to this, or find your signature discomforting. You may have to remove it if we get enough complaints.


Also, edit your post. Don't flame Fields. (or anyone, for that matter) :P
 
I agree with Fields, someone who would do that doesn't deserve to be seen in a good light. It's pathetic and cowardly what he did to his family, and regardless of people's views on him, he shouldn't really be remembered for his good deeds.

Has it been officially stated yet that it was the steroids that drove him to it, or is that still just an educated guess from everyone?

There were no proves that it was the steroids...because the murders ocurred over a three day period and roid rage cause temporary rage atacks and this seemed well exacuted.

You realize he killed his RETARDED SON. And that further investigation showed his suicide came around a day after he killed the other 2 members of his family. Meaning he was in the SAME HOUSE AS HIS FAMILY'S BODIES. Now I realize that you haven't grown ball hair yet, and you're very impressionable, but sit back and think a second about that. And that you're tributing him publically. Just think about how that looks. This guy qualifies as 'fucked up' on the level of guys like John Wayne Gacy.

All he's doing is respecting (Or forgiving) the man who was once his favorite wrestler.

If there's anything that can be taken offensively in this thread, it's that word Fields keeps throwing around.
 
I was an avid wrestling fan a few years ago too, Benoit was deffinately one of my faves, I even used to watch his old tapes when he wrestled in Japan under the name "Pegasus Kid" so naturally it came as a shock to me when I heard of what he did. I was'nt OVERLY surprised or OVERLY traumatised by the events but I think he will be sadly missed even if what he did was atrocious...I will now go on to applaude H_R for having the guts to do what he's done here, well done kid...even if I don't totally agree with you...

Chris Benoit was one of my favourite wrestlers aswell. I thought he was great. But after what has happened with Benoit, I have lost all respect I have had for the guy and that this incident over shadows his wrestling career. The fact that you have a tribute of this murderer in your signature is disgraceful.

And if you are going to reply to this post then I expect you to be more mature despite your age. If you reply with something like "FUK U ZIDAN" then I won't even bother with you.

He didn't 'go crazy'. He succumbed to after effects of steroids, aKa Roid Rage.

As far as I know, they don't believe Roid Rage was the case of this and that the evidence point to a premeditated murder.

Until toxicology tests come back, we don't know.



BUT Roid rage normally is a quick flash of anger...you aren't angry for a weekend straight...early reports say the deaths of the mom and son were maybe as much as a day apart. Not very consistent with the Roid Rage argument.
 
Yeah i had already told that this was a planned atack because he killed his wife friday, his son late saturday and himself sunday!

Also two bibles were found, one near the son and the other near the wife, there was blood under his wife head which means they might have struggled...

Of course he was taking steroids because they found a lot of them in his house but according to the last info that we have been given i doubt it was roid rage...guess we have to wait a few more days.
