SOTW General Information​

SOTW = Signature Of The Week. The SOTW competition takes place once a week and can only be set up by a designated mod, but anyone can enter. Every week there is a theme or at least guidelines set up for everyone to follow.

Here is an example:

Theme: Anime
Rules: Transparency allowed, can't be be square.

Rules that apply to every SOTW​

1.) Do not vote for your own entry. You will be immediately disqualified if you do so.

2.) Do not post the same sig/tag in more than one SOTW. That's just silly, and will get you disqualified.

3.) Do not submit and old tag. I don't mean one you made a week ago, (that I can let slide), but I mean one that's been sitting on your hard drive for months that you just never did anything with.

4.) All entries regardless of the theme, must fit the forum sig limits which is 500x300, and should be less than 300kb.

Purpose for this thread​

The purpose for this thread is to discuss current, past and upcoming SOTW discussions. Also, you can suggest themes for SOTW (which is more than welcome =D) And winners for each SOTW will be posted here =D

Schedule​

Every week an 'entry' thread will be posted, where I tell you the theme and other guidelines, and then you will pm Aerith or L your entries, so the voting will be anonymous. That way, we can cut down on playing favorites at least a little bit. And on the following week, that entry thread will be deleted, a poll for members to vote will be opened, and a new guidelines thread will be opened for the following SOTW.

I am thinking about entering, but I rather not have everyone see my entry. I want people to be surprised when they first look a it. Can we PM the entries to you instead and you post them in a judging thread?
 
Does anybody have any suggestions for themes they'd like for next weeks SOTW? There will most definitely be some sort of theme, but I wanted to see if anyone had any ideas that they really wanted to share?

Earth Day is today, so why not a nature theme? Meh. It should've been last weeks, but whatever. @_@

Anything is chill. So, whatever you decide.

but for comp 2 , I made something out of my other works.
Its my first nature theme and I really did not know what to make.:(
Anyway , I tried my best to make a mix of several image into one.
I will post it right now.

Congrats. Beat me and my silly little signature I cooked up in five minutes.

Concerning competition 2:

What is the first signature have to do with nature? I feel it is better to discuss it here than on the voting thread.

Thats okay. I'm swamped with school anyways so I might forget. It made me forget about comp 2 :'(

I'd say it's just because of the text, but I suppose the BG is green-ish, which is nature-ey too. But if Angel allowed it, then it must fit with the rules & guidelines. Don't question the awesome power of the mods.
 
Well, since there aren't many entries being.....entered (lolololz) I'm being lenient with all the comps til there are more entries :/

If we were to be strict about sig entries, then really only 3 truly qualify entirely this week, but I'm leaving it up to how you interpreted the theme =o

Edit: lol...actually I'd have to disqualify 3 if we were to get technical. If I was being as strict as some sites I've been on were, I'd have to disqualify 2 based on the theme alone, and 1 for breaking a rule about the age of a sig that was entered. Then there'd only be 2 entries this week %D And that just doesn't look good to say, a guest browsing the forums, deciding on whether or not to join.

Actually, I was gonna ask if you wanted to switch off every other week =o That way we can switch it up a little yanno? Like after this week, you could do next week, then I'll do another one, then you again, etc....If you'd like to do that of course =o
