If someone saved your life, how would you feel. And have you ever had a near-death experience where someone saved your life?

I've only had one. My dad and I were putting a solar cover on our pool. If you don't know what that is, it's basically a plastic tarp that you lay on the top of the water that holds in the heat of the sun. He could hold his breathe long enough to swim across the width of it no problem. I was young and couldn't make it... but I wanted to try. lol Needless to say I came up in the center of the pool, right underneath the tarp, gasping for air in a vacuum. You don't have to be a genius to know there wasn't a lot of oxygen in a vacuum. lol Anyhow, right as I was about to pass out he pulled back the tarp. I probably would have had another 30 seconds before brain damage. And no Mitsuki, I didn't have brain damage... so hold the comments. >.>

I didn't say anything! -.-

Anyway, I've had some near-death experience, yes...but none in which involved someone saving my life. At least I don't think. I probably just don't remember.

But I almost got run over by a car while crossing a big street. I was in 8th grade back then, and I was almost on the other side when a car was speeding and almost hit me. He hit the brakes and thank goodness, the car didn't hit me. It was like several inches away from me though. =/

Hmm, well now that I think about it, maybe that person saved me. He almost killed me and saved me at the same time.

When I was vacationing with the family in Mexcio, I accidentally ran over one of the locals. I don't recall what happened to the poor girl... I was told by the guide not to stop and keep going, and so I did. I hope she's all right... I hope that counts. It must've been a life or death experience for the girl, and she was only inches away from me.

Warm regards,

you ran over a local? lol thats random... how fast were you goinf when you ran over her? oh well these things happen...

Well i was at the beach one time when i decided to dive under a wave... only i was inexperienced at doing it, i succesfully dived the first one. As i surfaced, i barely took a breathe to see another wave go over me... it was a big one. i went under and got thrashed underwater... had no idea what was going on. I washed upp in the shallow end with a graze on my back gasping for air. I was about 10 at the time...

i had a fit once and stopped breathing. i was at school and people thought i was faking. aparantly my teacher was about to do mouth to mouth (he was a dirty old perv...) but i just woke up all of a sudden.the hospital couldent find anything wrong with me

^ very lucky... lucky that you woke up before your teacher got to you. are you sure your teacher didnt spike your drink or something just so he can have the excuse to give you mouth to mouth? hehehe

ewwwwwwwww thats a horrid thought!!! no im sure he didnt spike my drink. well not that teacher anyway. i know he didnt. blood tests came back clear.
i swear my music teacher tried that though. i started trippin out in her class once. that was freaky.

Dear God, that's awful. xD

As for me, I've had 3 near death experiences. All for the same reason, too. I have a certain... 'illness' in my heart which doesn't seem to want to go away. Anyway, my heart's literally stopped for two of the times... for around half an hour or so. Obviously I received resuscitation, so all was well.
The third time was when I was going under the knife for the second time due to my condition. He accidentally slipped, and pretty much severed my aorta.

In all honesty, I don't know how the hell I'm alive. xD

=/ I wonder what it's like to receive resuscitation. Anyway, I'm glad you're alive! Hmm, are you still experiencing those heart defects though?

It's not so much a defect, just some disease which randomly decided to pop up one night and almost incapacitate me. I swear, I get all the fun at my dad's house.

But yeah, I am. It seems to be an indefinite condition now, and I'll always have to have these small operations to prevent it from spreading. They said if my heart wasn't so weirdly strong, I'd probably have been dead and buried around 5 or so years ago.

What a comforting guy he was...

Well, at least you are still here.

I had a friend in High School who was diabetic but she hated taking her insulin, she wanted to be like everyone else and not be diabetic. She was so bad with it that I would carry around a hypodermic filled with insulin AND a packet of sugar cubes in case she went one way or the other. I had to administer to insulin once as she was heading into a coma, it worked and she was OK fortunatly.

As to being saved, well, I am allergic to strawberries and I have to carry an eppi pen. One day at work we were having a bit of a party and I ate something from the buffet table that must have had strawberries in it, I can't remember what it was. I went into anaphalatic shock very quickly, I tried to use my pen but I was too out of it. One of my colleagues grabbed it and stabbed it into my thigh fortunatly. So gald he was there.

If someone saved my life I would fall in love with them and spend my life repaying the favor. <3
