Pokemon G/S, HG/SS: Red is dead?

Now that THAT'S out of the way... Why did Blue agree to become a gym leader instead of going out and adventuring like Red did? :hmmm:
I know he was offered the position since Giovanni abandoned the Vermilion Gym :hmmm: But why would he take that instead of trying to be better than Red?

red wasn't one of the options for a name on blue for him. unless you picked a custom name, but i always used to call him silly things like bummer because i was a hilarious 10 year old

Well, probably he thought that Red would always end up being better than him. He goes back to training pokemon again apparently in B2W2.

Like Ash said.

Perhaps he believed that it was time for a break from training.

...Death doesn't exist in POKEMON GAMES!!

DON'T KILL MY CHILDHOOD! PLEASE!!

Red just went away for a little while!! ^^'

I apologize for the double post.
Another thing that punches a hole in the "Red is dead" theory.

Let's assume that he IS dead. Knowing Professor Oak, he wouldn't keep quiet about such a major thing. What is the first thing he's going to do? Tell Blue and Red's mom and the Elite Four. You would think that they would mourn his death, right?

But they don't.

Am I the only one who finds it odd that they don't even seem bothered by the fact that Red is dead, assuming Oak told them.

You#'re missing the fact that NO ONE knows where Red is.

That doesn't mean people don't know WHO he is. In the theory at the very start of the thread, it says Oak went to Mt. Silver himself and saw Red and his lifeless body. You would think that the first thing that Oak would do is tell Red's mom and questionably Blue. It doesn't take much brain power to say "Red is dead, and he died upon Mt. Silver." Hole punched again.

That's in the STORY. As if they're really going to put his lifeless body there in the game. In the game, no one knows where he is, the only person that we know of who has encountered Red during the time is Gold/Ethan. After Gold/Ethan defeated him, he disappeared. No word of him since then.

Even so, there was a reason that Oak only let qualified trainers go into Mt. Silver, right? Even if the theory isn't true, which it more than likely isn't, Oak had to know that SOMEONE was up there at least.

Oak only allows people into Mt.Silver who can handle themselves with the strong pokemon there. Oak does NOT know that Red is there. He never MENTIONED Red. Even the guy before Mt.Silver says that it's too dangerous to let you go to Mt.Silver. Why would he stop you if they knew only one trainer was there?

The only reason he doesn't allow people to go up there in the first place is because there are STRONG POKEMON there. He never mentioned that ANYONE is up there. Not alot of people are ALLOWED up there as there aren't really many trainers as strong as Red. Also, he went there ALONE, if he wanted to be alone, why would he tell ANYONE where he was going. Why WOULD he be alone if people knew where he was? Blue would probably have been there too, other people would be there as well if people knew Red was there. Mt.Silver is a dangerous mountain containing dangerous pokemon. It's like going to a very dangerous place in real life. Crocodiles and shit like that won't be friendly to you. The pokemon there are strong enough to probably kill a person.
