FFXII Wallpaper Mashup

This one's pretty simple; even though FFXII was released at the dawn of HD-everything, most of the wallpapers created for the game were still made in VGA resolutions and would look odd on today's high resolution, widescreen monitors. My solution? Mash up a bunch of them and add a few of my own touches for a brand new, 1200p wallpaper of plenty good resolution for my monitor and most everybody else's, too. And if you're one of those lucky people with a WQXGA screen...well, at least the aspect ratio will be correct

If anyone else out there is interested in showing some love for FFXII, save the wallpaper below! As I said, it's in 1200p (that's 1920x1200, 16:10 aspect ratio), but it was designed so that if you're on a 1080p (1920x1080 16:9) monitor you can just clip the top and bottom off without losing anything.

That's actually a creative mash-up! They are blended so well and do not look like they belong to different pieces. Though I'm a little bothered by how the FFXII text is blocked . Awesome job!

Me too, but somehow I liked how it looked overlaying some characters and being behind others, giving a small sense of depth, and I didn't feel like masking out the text to separate it from the logo since I'd already had to mask out all the individual characters from their respective wallpapers

Actually, I intentionally left out some characters for two reasons: a) size/organization, and b) so I could put them into a second wallpaper! The reason I chose these characters for wallpaper numero uno was because of their orientation; Penelo and Ashe oriented left, the logo facing straight in the middle, and Balthier and Vaan oriented right.

I can most definitely make versions with different assortments of characters, though

EDIT: This isn't the second wallpaper I was talking about, but I saw another wallpaper like this on the interwebs and thought the style was neat, so I made one like it with a FF XII theme:

Like the last one, it is in 1200p but fits 1080p monitors without cutting off anything important as well.

Ohh, that makes sense! I sort of forgot how important a character's orientation could be in designing a wallpaper. xD It'd be awesome if you could make another wallpaper similar to the one in the first post but with Fran in it~ ^__^

I also like the style of the wallpaper you posted above. It's neat how the characters are displayed within the XII logo. Overall, it's very simple && clean (no KH pun intended, lol), which is great 'cause sometimes I don't like an overly-complicated design when my desktop background is a bit messy with icons... lol.

For those who were bugged about the title being stuck behind some of the characters, I found a way to quickly isolate it from the rest of the logo and bring it around front, too. Also I made the characters just a little bit more visible than in the last one, since it seems to look better this way.

Thanks for posting the new wallpaper! It looks amazing~! Just downloaded it. ^^ It's a drastic improvement from the last one in terms of the character && logo visibility, so great work on that.

Your wallpapers are very clean looking, something I always look for when changing my own. Yours are a little too lightly shaded for my taste, but the composition and placement is done really well!
