Your ‘happy place’ is subjective. This can be a place—real or made up—that calms your mind and soothes your soul. The geography of joy varies with people. It can be a pleasant memory (often times this is the case for many) or activities. It’s a place which makes you feel safe and stress-free when life comes crashing down on you.

So where do you ‘go’ to find that quality feeling in your heart? How do you find your happy place when you need it most?

Final Fantasy Forums. Because I want 1 GP. :brahneto:

Only kidding! :argor:

Although not entirely. The FF community, including FFF and KupoCon (which overlaps with FFF), does bring me joy and some sense of belonging. I've met some incredible people and embarked on some ventures I'm very pleased with. It's claimed part of my soul now for certain.

But for a 'place' in a spiritual or physical sense?
I really suck at meditating so I wish I could say that I sit still and send my spirit flying over to Greece whenever I get stressed, but unfortunately I do not. Although I have been there physically and I've always found it very calming as if I'm somewhere I belong (and I can recapture some of this by going to a Greek restaurant or eating Greek food in the UK). The same can be said for going up to the north of England where all my family are from, primarily due to the memories. Due to logistical and financial factors, neither of these places are places I can decide to go on a whim if I'm feeling stressed. When I have gone to them it is because it has been pre-planned, so then it becomes irrelevant whether I'm stressed or not when that time comes.

I think I really need to improve my headspace at the moment. I need to look into visualisation techniques again. I tried some about a year ago and found it quite interesting but I never went back to it. I can rarely shut off the traffic in my mind and I really need to from time to time. At the moment I'm running in circles in my own head running past an endless number of things I'm remembering I need to do. :O

Happy place is the moment troubling will pass and I'll soon be lying on my back in comfort in my room. I can see me on my bed (clothed obvs!) playing stuff or writing things. I can see my window as well but it's this huge shining grey blurred light outside as opposed to the clouds, trees and other houses I can see from my actual bed.
Never really known I had a happy place as didn't feel I needed one! But now you mention it...
Thanks for the thread!
