So I was talking to my friend last night and he said "Yeah you know Manhunt 2 isn't coming out in Canada eh?, it's too violent" and I'm like WTF?? So Canadians can't play this awesome game now? That's fricking bull.

Anyways anyone here of this and is this true?

It was banned from the UK and then the toned down version was banned as well. It happened in the UK so I dont see why it cant happen in Canada.

This news is about 2/3 months old, I think another toned down version has been recently accepted but I think that Holland is the only place that's accepted the uncut version.

What console(s) is it due to be released on? I'm going to Amsterdam in a few months, and I suppose I might as well bring it back for the hell of it.
It's a bit sad that they think this has to be done. What the police choose to ignore about the incident with the first game, is that the kid was a drug addict.

In the original Manhunt they cut out a castration scene and blur some of the executions. It was almost rated Adult here.

That sucks for guys, you might be able to buy Manhunt 2 on ebay when it's out.=/

It's out on the PS2 and Wii, I'd imagine both versions are out in Holland.

The police and media were idiots on the situation surrounding the last game, it was the kid that owned the game that was killed not the killer. Basically the whole situation is complete bullshit.

OMG wow an execution or two and someone losing the ability to have kids?

Let me guess, they banned they banned almost all scary movies too? My god... These parents are wusses. (I'm assuming it's parents that requested a ban, those are the only people that would ever try to ban a video game) If you can't even control video games without getting a government ban, your a shitty parent... Don't blame the game, blame the parent.

I agree with Kaos, because I played all kinds of games I shouldn't when I was younger, but I still turned out fine. My parents didn't really agree with the games I played, but I didn't go out and try to run my car into somebody else to get burn points =D. If they parents can't control their kid, it's not the gaming companys fault =\

It's not entirely the parents' fault either though. You've got to be pretty fucked up to let something like a game get the better of you, and feel that you have to act in the same way. Young minds are impressionable, yes, but not that impressionable.

It's the parents hypocrisy that gets me most. They buy a game for their son/daughter that clearly has like a 15-18 rating on it then blame the game, developers, publishers etc when their child fucks up somewhere. I'm not saying that the games are even to blame but I think it is funny that parents immediately try and pass the buck on to someone else when they are clearly in the wrong by buying their child a game that he legally shouldn't be.

I have to say, maybe there are a few out there who have played a game and it has given them an idea for them in reality. I'm sure the same could be said for the likes of a movie or a TV show but the media have blown it way out of proportion. If the person happens to have the likes of GTA (Which is actually a big possibility since it is probably one of the most popular franchises out there) then they immediately blame it.

Anyway, for a game to have a to have an impact on your mind that makes you want to kill people then I believe the person already had serious problems, more than anything a video game could do.

I wasn't actually going to say more than 2 sentences on this topic as I have expressed my opinions surrounding the Manhunt 2 controversy but it kind of pisses me off to see the media attack these kind of games. They were even more concerned about the Wii version since you are slightly imitating the actions and they think it would have a more serious impact on a "childs" (Yes, child. Despite the fact it's not for children) motive.

Also, another thing I would like to add as well is that probably most of these cases about "video games made me kill someone" are probably the kids using it to save their own asses from getting a more serious penalty.

Well, calling Manhunt 2 awesome is a bit of a stretch. Just import it if it hasn't released in Canada.

Here is a good one...:D.....for all you Manhunt obessives, btw..strong language in the review ...... :D

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/art...zeropunctuation/2048-Zero-Puntucation-Manhunt

but joke on the side....(though I agree with the review 100% from what I know and have seen about it) I have problem with saving when it comes to Manhunt...and so none can play it properly and finish it...

I bought the game for my flat mate...so we all had a go, and it is fine game... but the problem we are having is this one: when it comes to saving it...you cannot...it creates the save..but says it is corrupt on the memory card...when you try to load saved game and you cannot...so..

I took the game back, and bought a new one...brought it back...and same bloody thing...am I and my flat mate missing something here...? cos I donne it again..and this is the third copy I have here and you cannot save at all...I loooked everywhere, and I tried everything...it is just not bloody working...but it should....

...and there is nothing wrong with my ps2 and never had problems with saves or memory cards... SO I AM COMPLETELLY CONFUSED ABOUT IT......anyone has any idea ..feel free to help....
