Discuss here who about you think is gonna win the world cup in 2010. And also how is gonna qualify for the tournie too.

The only countries that have qualified so far are South Africa - automatic as hosts, Japan, Australia, South Korea and Holland

Me I am rooting for England, we have nearly qualified, we got 18 points in the bag - 6 wins outta 6 and roosting on top of our group. XD

Soon to be 7 wins since we face Andorra next who basically are a jobber team. XP

If we beat them we will only need one more point to qualify from our last three games.

Anywayz if England can't win the WC or get knocked out of it - I will then be cheering on Holland, Spain and Brazil to win since I kinda like all these teams as well.

USA! USA! USA!

We solidified our position pretty well with a win over Honduras. We're sitting in second, behind Costa Rica, who're just killin' cats right now. That birdcage they call a stadium is brutal to visiting teams. USA have never won there in 8 trips. Mexico are struggling, as they can't settle on a coach. But yeah, we should qualify, and I'm hoping we stay out of the group of death this time.

I'll be very very surprised if England don't qualify for it. I'm not expecting us to win it though, we aren't that good. Although I do think we'll have a decent tournament for the first time in a while. Under Capello we've been playing as a better unit, and he has a good tactical mind.

Spain were downright scary during the Euro 2008 and have been playing a pretty well in the qualification so far, so at this stage at least, they're my pick to win the world cup.

My own team Denmark is doing really well in their qualification group, and will hopefully pick up a win against Portugal next to solidify the lead. It's not over yet though. Our remaining games in the group are against Sweden, Portugal, Albania, and Hungary. Sweden and Portugal haven't been doing too well so far, but they are still strong teams with some world class players that can really make a difference (which is really the only thing the Danish team is lacking at the moment). Hungary is second in the group, and the only team to draw against us so far. All our remaining big games are on hometurf though, and we beat both Portugal and Sweden the first time around, so I'm pretty confident that we will win the group.

Still 12 months away, can't come soon enough :(

I won't make any predictions at the moment, so much can change in a year and these tournaments are all about hitting form at just the right time. Few would have predicted Germany making the final in 2002 when they has just lost 5-1 at home to England. And Italy and France didn't look amazing in the run up to the last World Cup. Spain are worthy favourites right now but it's very hard to gauge howthese things will turn out.

England are going to qualify comfortably and that's all they can do for now, especially when teams like France and Portugal are struggling to do so at the moment. I'm still a bit sceptical about England's chances though as like Holland all too often when it comes to the crunch these times are found wanting (just look at Holland in Euro 2008, peaking far too soon in the tournament). Spain showed in 2008 that it is possible to break out of this category to be fair so there's always a chance England could do the same. They might have to stop Rooney getting himself sent off again though ;)

More qualifiers on Wednesday and later in June (in Africa and Asia anyway) and then more to come in August, September and October - bring it on.

I'd like North Korea to qualify as well! XD
