Help Won't let me play Blitzball

Ever since my party was attacked by Sin, and ended up in the desert, I haven't had the option to play Blitzball. Every time I'm at a save sphere, the Blitzball option is grayed out. Why? I need to play Blitzball so I can get Wakka's Legendary weapon. Has anyone ever had this problem?

And you just can't play it in that area at that point in the plot, it'l become available again soon, just be patient

Yeah, you won't be able to play blitzballduring major events. Just think, you're in the desert and are looking for Yuna so... you go and play blitzball (Tidus I mean)? Obviously not!
Thr option to play will appear again in a while, just advance the story.

It's actually because the Guado are after you, I think.
It wouldn't do to return to Luca Stadium while all the warrior monks and Guado in Spira are trying to capture Yuna.
A whole lot of stuff opens up near the end of the game, after you get the airship again. This will be one of 'em.

Well Blitzball is sponsored by Yevon isn't it? And you just killed Seymour, a maester of Yevon. That's not gonna go over well, your party is wanted for murder.

Just play a bit more and you should regain access to the Blitzball minigame a little while later.
