I was just having a look at ninemsn news and I came across this very interesting story:

If you look at the picture in that link above, of the normal sized baby next to the 8.7kg one you can really see the difference. =0

An Indonesian woman has given birth to an 8.7kg baby boy, the heaviest newborn ever recorded in the country, a doctor said Wednesday.

The baby, who is still unnamed and is 62cm long, was born by caesarean section Monday at a public hospital in North Sumatra province, a gynaecologist who took part in the operation said.

"This heavy baby made the surgery really tough, especially the process of taking him out of his mum's womb. His legs were so big," Binsar Sitanggang said.

Holy crap. THAT is one massive baby. Godzilla's offspring.

Dear lord, I'd hate to have been that lady during the birthing process. Bet she feels light as a feather after ridding herself of that extra baggage!
 
She had a c section of course, who'd be bad enough to go through natural birth with a baby that enormous? :holyshit: The mother must have been pretty big herself to have made such a large baby! Even 8+ pounds is big, let alone 19!! Babies are getting so large these days it seems!

Maybe you should have posted this stating the weight in pounds, Americans probably think 8.7kg isn't that big. :P
 
That's liek, a REALLY big baby :wacky: To be honest, had it not been for the picture I wouldn't have enough known that was above ordinary size since it's one of those things women only really seem to know >.>

I'd love to see him in a few years time when he goes to school. He's gonna be massive :wacky:
