*have to hit O after that happened*

went to Settings. Test connection.
Obtain IP address - failed.
Internet Connection-.

can anyone help me out with this issue??? i've googled for 3 hours this mroning and came up with nothing.

Mmmmmm well I can't say what the EXACT problem is but when I hook my PS3 up to the internet at my mums I do it differently. So you could try it the way I do...

Instead of EASY setup use CUSTOM...
Instead of SCAN use ENTER MANUALLY...
WLAN security...choose WEP and enter WEP key.
If that doesn't work then I don't know =[

I don't have a ps3 haha, but I would have guessed it'd be like the 360 where you buy the part.

It doesn't make sense to me that all you do is change the settings, I would think you would have to put the information on the back of the modem on the ps3. But yeah I don't have a ps3 lol.

Sorry if I misunderstood and have a irrelevant input.

Go on the playstation forums to find the solution the same thing happened to me i wish i had a link but i dont srry.

If you have a wireless, you have a WEP, unless its a WPA. And it looks like it can't find your IP maybe because the WEP is blocking it or not allowing you to connect to your computer.

Find your IP by;

Start, Run, type ''cmd'' then type ''ipconfig/all'' in that line, and your IP will be there. Note it down and put that into the address bar and it should find your settings and security for your WEP by making a page. There you can unblock it or make exceptions.

How close is your router to the PS3? The D-Link Router that you mentioned is a G-signal, so depending on how close or far away your router is from your ps3...it could be part of the reason why it's not connecting.

Not to mention the fact that D-Link routers can be really tricky to configure sometimes. I much prefer Linksys and Netgear routers, especially for gaming.

First, which model of PS3 do you have? If I am recalling right (probably not, I bought mine AGES ago =P), some models don't have built-in wireless.

Even if that's not the case, did you configure your network yet? If your router came with a CD (hopefully) you can take that route.
