Will Versus ever be on the 360?

I was so happy when I found out that FFXIII would be on 360 so I wouldn't have to buy a PS3 but then when I found out about versus a few days ago I was very disappointed that its PS3 exclusive. My goal is to beat every FF game at least once and now to fullfill that dream I have to spend 300 more dollars.

Do you think it will ever be on the 360?
 
Personally, I don't think it will be. Though there hasn't been much news on Versus XIII, unless it's announced at E3 2010 I think Versus will be too far into development to start considering a 360 release. You never know with SquareEnix, but I think even Versus will stay exclusive.
 
As far as we know, Versus XIII will not appear on the Xbox 360. Tetsuya Nomura, who plays an important role in the development of the game, is not really the biggest fan of the Xbox 360 as I recall. Versus is built from the ground up for the PS3.

If your goal is to beat every FF game at least once, I suppose FFXI and FFXIV are excluded then. You can't necessarily "beat" an MMORPG.
 
Hmmm ok. Well I guess I will have to buy a Ps3 at some point then lol. Oh well... I guess I don't have to worry about it for awhile.

Yeah your right. I'm just talking about the ones that you can beat. I can't afford to play an MMO anyways.
 
There is one factor that can be very important: money. $$$

Knowing Square Enix these days, they would probably accept any radical tactic to get more money. We've all seen how FFXIII lost its exclusivity to the Xbox 360 to broaden FFXIII's audience. If Microsoft pays SE enough money to have Versus XIII on their console, I can see SE having a large chance in accepting the offer.

But Nomura wouldn't be very happy. He loves the PS3 way more than the 360 supposedly. If such a deal is made, I can't imagine Nomura wanting to give in so easily.
 
No It will not be on xbox 360 as far as I know. Just like other posters said Tetsuya is not a fan of the 360. If it does come on 360 I will cry because I really need an exclusive on ps3 and my ps3 needs much more love tbh.
 
Hopefully its gonna be a ps3 exclusive I want to see this game at its best unlike FFXIII which was probably dumbed down by atlot.I could just imagine what It could have been if it was just an exclusive but eh what can you do.
 
Yeah Maybe. But for ps3 its sure! FF XIII VERSUS is the reason im buying a ps3. =\
 
I highly doubt that it will be released on the 360. Having the game release on the PS3 is allowing for them to utilize every piece of hardware in that system and from what we've seen and heard so far, I doubt that the game could even function fully on the 360 without the use of 6+ dvds.

I hope they can really optimize and push the hardware with this game, unlike XIII...

this may sound a bit fanboy-ish, but to be honest, I hope not.

Square Enix was always best known for pushing many hardware to their limits, resulting in the best possible quality for their games. And there aint a better way to do it then keeping a game exclusive to one system (except maybe the PC).

I think that one of the main reasons that many fans were disgusted with the announcement of the port was because many thought that SE were starting to become a money whore, and was willing to sacrifice the game's quality for money.

so basically, everybody's putting their hopes up for Versus now. Lets be thankful that Nomura is calling the shots (Ill keep my fingers crossed)

Im getting the PS3 version of FFXIII, and if what they said was true, about not letting the port influence FFXIII's development on the PS3, then Im good.
I just kinda feel ticked off that 360 owners will be getting a watered down version, which is something that Final Fantasy was never known for....
 
if SE's statements hold true, then both versions should be of equal quality and everyone who owns FFXIII will get the same experience regardless of system (except perhaps minor sound/graphical difference and disk swapping, which is never a problem for any FF fan). what they'll do with versus, we'll see, but i'm doubting a 360 port considering the extra time needed to spend on it when there are other projects to be finished.
 
I too, think there isn't a possibility the 360 won't get Versus.

Wait, I'm a little confused with the way you wrote your post.
You're saying there ISN'T a possibility the 360 WON'T be getting Versus.
So you mean to say that a 360 port of Versus is 100% certain?
