Why can't I copy and paste anything?

I don't want to sound like an idiot, but for some reason, I can't paste anything at all on these forums. The only place I can is in my profile. This is getting to be a real pain since any long posts I make are lost when I find that I got 'kicked off' the site because I was inactive too long. I always copy my posts before I submit them but in this case it doesn't help. Is my computer screwy? Am I doing something wrong? Is there another way to do this that I'm not aware of?

Wow sweetie, I'm not sure why you can't copy and paste I have no problems at all doing it so maybe it has to do with your browser? I wonder if you're the only person who has this problem. I'll let Darkblade know ASAP. Maybe he has a solution.

You'll just have to do the not-so-much of a hassle method of pasting, and select Edit, and then Paste from your bar at the top of your browser. Same applies for Copying. Highlight then select it from the Edit option.

I don't know why the 'normal' method won't work though...ruddy annoying, that's what it is.

Uh I really have no clue because none of us had any problems such as this one. So yeah, I guess it'll be a bit hard to fix this up for you but care to tell us more about your issue like what browser you are currently running, OS, etc. Please try to be more specific here.

try ctrl+v to paste, ctrl+c to copy. It should work.

Browser is Mozilla Firefox version 2, and the operating system is Windows XP.

But the weird thing is that on my brother's laptop, it'll copy and paste, with the same browser and everything. However, the two desktop computers won't do it, all with the same browser, etc. And the one computer that I always use had to get a whole new refit after crashing twice. Hardrive, memory--nearly all of it had to be replaced. So everything on it is fairly new.
And it's not like when I try to paste, the option is gray and can't be selected: it just isn't there. There is no option to paste.
Right now I'm using my brother's laptop, so I can't tell if the other options will work on the computer I always use.
