Although I loved final fantasy 1, 4 and 6 back when they were available....Final fantasy 3 and 5 had an even bigger place in my heart when I finally had the chance to play them. The job system is what I loved and just makes me keep playing it. We havent seen the Job system shine as much in recent games. Sure, FFX-2 and Lightning Returns somewhat bring it back with garbs and dresspheres, but it just doesnt shine like it used. Maybe it cant anymore due to how much software it will take up. But I firmly believe the main series of final fantasy can bring it back, or at least partially. One of the ways they can bring it back is rather than all characters having the option to be all jobs, certain characters can have certain jobs exclusively to them. Perhaps certain characters can have a branch system where if they choose specific group of traits or jobs, they unlock a specific final. Job. This also allows replayability. But thats just one idea. What about all of you?

When I think of the "job system" in the franchise, I think of Final Fantasy V. It's just the epitome of the classic samurai, knight/warrior, white mage, black mage classes. I know FFV makes more than just those 4 or 5 available, so it does cover a lot of the classic favorites, but it's kinda been a while since a game came out like that.

Since then characters have been able to be "utility players" learning almost any skills all at the same time, not focused on one class. FFIX kinda comes close to that with Garnet and Eiko as White Mages, Vivi and a Black Mage, and Steiner as a knight/warrior. However, FFV I believe shows the epitome of the Final Fantasy job class system.
