which part of the game got you hooked

The part that got me hooked was in the flashback to Cloud's past (the one at the beginning, basically the fake one) when Sephiroth goes up to the mountain, finds Jenova, and goes on his killing spree.

The music? I loved the music. But..Sephiroth pretty much got me hooked tbh.

The intro, to be honest.

Just the sheer size of Midgar was a sight in itself.
I think the intro is the most important part of the game, because if the intro sucked, why would you keep playing?????

I did eventually get really hooked into the beginning. But also the part where Cloud is sick and Tifa looks after him also got me hooked even more.

The intro most definantly. I think the whole idea of Midgar and the capacity of it as I watched the screen just totally sucked me in. After Cloud met Aerith and I watched them laugh together and continued to watch their connection grow, that's what got me hooked.

I guess I got hooked just because it was so advanced for the times but the bit that got me going was Clouds hair!!! :)

i started playing the game for the 5th time and it got me after the first little sequence when the train stops at the station and the battles begin. i just loved it

Um, the game had me from the opening battle. I know that's not a very interesting answer, but it's true. I was really excited about this game. It was my first game for the PSX, too.

I would have to say the intro. Getting thrust into action from the get go was what kept me from putting it down.

The very start of it. The whole Midgar mission, to meeting Aerith, to the train station, and so on and so on. And of course the battle. That was the first time I've played anything like that. I didn't know what the heck to do, of course, but it naturally came to me. :) Thus, the birth of RPG for me...

Right after the first fight with Reno when the plate fell on sector 7
