It actually can be spammed, Kefka flippantly fires it off a few times in a row right before the final boss fight. One zap of it destroys a city easily, and he can fire it off as much as he wants. He would have nuked both Terra and Gaia in the time it took Kuja just to nuke Terra.

Yeah, a single town... Although if Kefka does it enough, he could destroy the world, but I don't see him doing it as fast as Kuja.

You keep trying to emphasize that LoJ destroys a town as if it were somehow a point against it. The fact remains that the buildings that Ultima destroys can be counted on one hand, whereas Kefka would have wiped out Bran Bal with one use of his Light.

He COULD do... But where would the fun in that be? Kefka wanted to savour every last scream of the people he killed. He wanted to play with his powers, not waste them on causing ultimate destruction in one fell swoop.
He's like a kid against an ant colony with a magnifying glass... He wants as much enjoyment out of killing them as he can get. This is where he differs from characters such as Kuja. Kuja
killed out of anger and wanting everyone to die with him.
.. Kefka was just having fun.

So I do believe Kefka actually held back on his power.

This. Right here is the truth at the heart of the matter. Kefka showed right before the final battle that he could wipe out the world in seconds if he wanted to, but held back because of his insanity. Lines like "nothing beats the music of hundreds of voices screaming in unison" confirm that Kefka does what he does out of enjoyment.

Yet in that fit of rage before the final boss, that took a couple minutes, he only destroyed 1 more city (if memory serves). So city busting = planet busting now?

I must have missed that class. :monster:

Let's try to keep our cools eh lads? Don't want this escallting into no cat fights

Also, people will always have their own opinions, and this isn't a debate forum - which is fine to do so, so long as your are not demanding proof or resorting to petty insults. Lets keep it civil ;))

Did you even play FF VI? He just zapped it across the ground, leaving enormous paths of destruction from flippant use of it. Light of Judgment is more powerful than Ultima, that's a simple fact.

Yet it still had a ways to go from destroying the world. And yes, I have played FFVI.

A ways to go? Are you kidding me? Ultima is only capable of taking out a couple buildings per attack, yet it didn't take much time for it to destroy the world. LoJ destroys everything in its path in a single flippant use, just look:

In just moving across the ground its doing far more damage than an Ultima ball. This isn't something really up for debate, LoJ is a much more powerful attack.

Well of course it's more powerful than a single ball. But Ultima was so deadly because there were so many. Light of Judgement would have taken a bit to skid over the whole surface of the world.

Just like Ultima took a little time to nuke Terra. The fact is that Kefka can spam his attack just like Kuja can, and given that LoJ is more powerful use for use by your own admission, Kefka has the more powerful attack.

Also bear in mind the state of the planet
that Kuja destroyed. Terra was a devastated planet, drained of all life, and relied on absorbing the souls of others to survive
.
Now imagine this... There is a man in a glasshouse with a machine gun, and further down the road there is a man in a mansion, with a bazooka. They both fire. Which one appears to do more damage?
This is pretty much how Kuja
firing at Terra, which had little of note to destroy other than large crystaline towers in a dead state,
would appear to be oh so powerful because everything
fell apart and shattered nicely
. Kefka was
firing on a planet that was a little more secure, despite being completely trashed and deadly to mankind,
it still remained in form as a mass. It wouldn't shatter and set off a chain reaction to cause the rest of the planet to shatter. But the power Kefka showed with
the Light of Judgement was extremely powerful, like a giant beam that nuked anything it touched.
Besides he didn't want to destroy every town and city, firstly as then he'd have nothing left to play with, and secondly because he wanted people to fear him.
In reference to Kefka not causing much damage with it even when does get mad, well if you notice
that most of the beams he fires don't actually hit anything of considerable worth (scratching the surface of the planet, but few cities). So he wasn't really aiming that thing to destroy the planet.
Instead he was venting his frustration like a child stabbing playdough, or tearing up bits of cardboard and tissue. He wanted to destroy something, to get out his frustration,
before fighting the party (which he intended to win)
, and have a planet left to torment and torture until the day comes that he WOULD
squeeze every last ounce of life from the planet
.

I voted for Seph but in my opinion Ultimecia was pretty tough and Kefka destroyed the world. However, they're both dead while Seph keeps grabing in life!

Well... If it wasn't for the movies and spin-offs, Sephiroth would be dead too. :P

I'd add more to this so not to annoy people... But it is really all above anyway.

I'd say Sin, as it is not only physically strong, but it's also able to psychologically terrorize the people of Spira, who lived in fear of it every single day. I think Sin was the strongest because it's actions effected the most people - everyone in Spira was aware of it, and afraid of it.

While few people would know of say, Ultimecia or Garland.
