Where is Edge?

Okay, so in Dirge of Cerberus Vincent goes to Edge. Also, In Advent Children, (I haven't watched it in a while) it either takes place there or in one part they are in Edge. But Edge isn't in FF7... Where is it? Is it in some part of Midgar? I'm confuzzled here...

Ok Edge was made after FFVII, it is outside of the ruins of Midgar a little bit away from it as far is I understand it. They built it from ruins of Midgar if I remember correctly.

Yeah, I think they built it on the "edge" (har har) of midgar. So clever, right?

Yes edge is on the rim of what was Midgar.
