Help Where do I find the rest of my party at?

I'm level 5, I'm trying to beat Flowering Cactoid to boost my Clan Rank.
I'm having trouble beating the cactoid, I think it's because I need another member in my party because all I still have is Naan.
I never really could figure out exactly what to do in the game, most FF games I skim through really fast. Please help, thanks!

Go to Giza Plains after speaking with Old Dalan. Penelo will join your party until you're done with the current mission, so you can take her to help you out with the cactoid.
