What's is up with post counts lately???

What really is going on?

Lately I've seen some members getting 50 - 60 post count increases and yes I read the "Glitch" post already. I've also seen some members account settings and Avatar's being messed with.

Yesterday I had a post count of 271, an hour later it went down to 261 or something and today it's 258... Are that may of my posts are getting deleted or removed? I just kinda find it hard to believe that many in a short amount of time, but I guess it's possible.

Or.... Someone has lot of time on their hands or is having a good time editing Post Counts in the "USER" SQL Database Table. I really hope that's not the case. :rolleyes:
 
Yep. I noticed quite a few of the threads that I've made have been automatically moved recently. I suppose it has to do with thread inactivity.

So yes. A lot of threads have been moved to the no post count section. =\
 
And....has Riku's post count gone up?
I remember it being 2868 whatever when I first joined.....
Or am I just seeing things... 0_0

And yes, mine dropped some too.
Though I've remedied that already. >_<
 
It's really nothing to worry about. Your post count isn't really important unless you're planning to become a top poster and have your ego stroked. xD

I've never noticed anything about my post count. ever. I could care less if it decreased or increased, because what really matters is what you put in those posts, not the number of them you made. "Quality over quantity" They've always said. :D
 
I'm not exactly sure why Riku's post count would be going up o_O

But I do know that a lot of threads have been closed and moved to the no post count section recently, so that would explain why so many people lost a chunk of their posts, like Booger said =o
 
Actually, the only topics gonig to the No Post Count Archive should be topics that don't count anyway, so it shouldn't lower the count or change it at all for that matter.

The reason they are going down is because topics in post count areas like the Voting Booth, or General Discussion, or Drama topics are being moved to spam no post forums, or were deleted.

Also, I've seen many new members post a shit-load of spammy, eye-bleeding posts lately just to get access to the site's RPG. :mad: Belazor can attest to this, but those who we see post whoring to gain access into the RPG will be disappointed in the outcomes. Really though, if the post counts are dropping, it's most likely due to spam. If you don't spam a lot, you have nothing really to fear. Then again, it may just be the off-topic path that a thread has taken and it was moved to the spam Forums.

I'd say don't worry about it, but I have no idea why Riku's went up so much...
 
Will someone just delete his account so I can be the top poster already?? :giggle:

I noticed some good threads of mine from the FF sections were moved to the NPC forum too. =[

No, It's not an issue of being worried about a post count number, ego, etc... If I where, my post count would be a whole lot higher than it is, especially since I've been here longer than a lot of the Top Posters well above me. ;):rolleyes:

It's mostly about a pattern I saw going on over the past few days and made me want to just post a thread saying hey, what's going on? Or, is someone editing the "USER" SQL Database Table? (Which I'm sorry to say that I wouldn't be surprise or shock to find that being the case).

Anyway, thanks for the answers guys.
 
Just a quick question...but what is the "USER" SQL Database Table? Is it something that only Darkblade would have access to, cuz I've never heard of it...
 
It's one of about approximately 119 individual databases that make up the core of vBulletin. The "USER" database table will allow anyone who has access to it the ability to edit pretty much any statistic on any user in the forum regardless of position or rank.

Yes, It will be something that the site owner (Darkblade) would have access to as well as anyone he closely trusts since you can completely wipe out the board with that level of access.

Now, I'm sorry if I sound like I'm accusing someone of actually tampering here, but after hearing that some members Ava's and account settings where tampered with weather it was out of fun or not, was why I said it wouldn't shock me to find out that they took it a step further to dabble in heart of vBulletin, the SQL Tables.
 
Yeah! That happen to me! I was playing the RP and next thing you know I was at 39 post count when I had 51. What going on???:mad:

You spam like crazy and I deleted your posts. You were only post whoring to get to the RPG.

As for the rest, sorry for the inconveniences; Post counts are NOT purposely tampered with, and if you feel they are, please send me a PM and I will work to get to the bottom of it or at least give you a heads up on why the post counts are changing.
