Sorry, I realize the cinema/movie theater might be a sore subject at the moment with Covid going on, but I was thinking the other day about how our theaters were playing the old Lord of the Rings movies for a limited time a few years back, and how nice it actually was to see older movies play on the big screen. I believe The Lion King was also one of those they played for when the 'live action' one was about to be released.

So, that said, I'm sure you all have favorite movies out there and would love to experience them on the big screen. What movie/movies would you love to see again if they were to show them at the cinema once more?

I value seeing films on the big screen, I remember at one point going once a week for 6-weeks in a row. I've also had the pleasure of seeing Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey in a cinematic screening and it was certainly an experience!

But the recent events have put me off, sadly it seems the majority of people out there don't care for basic precautions still and with the mask mandate being dropped this week in the UK it's going to be a long time until I even consider it again - I'm talking early 2023... if all things go well.

I don't like the idea of depending on Streaming Services either - If it was an All In One Service or say Odeon/Vue Did Streaming for a wide range of New releases I'd go for it but I am not paying into 4 or 5 difference services just to make sure I can get access to all the films I want to see - It's far worse than console exclusivities and I'm already over it! Some streaming Services aren't even releasing films on Blu-Ray at a later date - Which would be my preferred method. So the current state of streaming services is not route I want to support either.

Tell me about it. I hadn't been to the cinema since 2019 until two weeks ago.
I braved it on a weekday at about noon to watch Spider-Man: No Way Home. I waited for a day when local kids had gone back to school. Thankfully the entire cinema was pretty much empty. Only me and about five other people in the entire screen, and the other people were in different rows.

But I would definitely not go to the cinema if it was packed and if the venue isn't requiring negative test results, masks, etc. Not right now.

As for this question about older films I'd like to see at the cinema... I guess I'd be up for seeing the original Blade Runner on the big screen. The superior Final Cut version which is vastly improved and the closest to the director's vision. Its sequel looked fantastic on the big screen, and I'd love to see the original in a cinema context because it was also visually ahead of its time.

Watching movies on the big screen feels awesome, but nowadays everyone enjoys movies by downloading free movies from trusted sites and watching them freely without interruptions. I watched Halloween many times.
