my three that i always used were Fran Vaan and Basch. Fran was at
lvl. 68; Vaan at 59; and Basch was at lvl. 67.

Mine were around level 80 or so. Give or take a few levels. I ended up losing interest in training, and worked on the Hunts and such.

O.O Wow, all you guys must have been less interested in seeing the ending.

Progressing to that level isn't challenging. I like spending some time training up my team to make sure I can survive future boss battles; which at that stage was plentiful for me. I don't power-level, but I certainly increase my levels by a reasonable amount in each new area.

What I meant was, you did a lot of other stuff once you were near the end.

What I ended up doing is made a save game at the end before I got on Bahamut, went and beat the end of the game and then loaded to go and do the stuff I didnt do yet. Best way of going about it if you ask me.

Ah. Well, I didn't really. I spend a set time training, work on a few Hunts (if there's any), and move on with the story. Though I must admit, once I was able to travel to The Bahamut, I dove in head first. :P

I was in the 70's when I beat the game.

Right at the end I did all the hunts and got some special weapons and all the magicks. I didn't want to beat the game just yet.

I had Vaan as the tank, Balthier using a 2h Katana as my thief, and Freya as my magic user. They were all in the mid 60s (the strat guide recommends that your whole party be around lvl 45).

I stopped for about 3 days when I got to Bahamut and finished up some hunts and got better armor. Then I got to some hunts that I needed to do other side quests for and just wanted to beat the game. I thought the ending was great. So far all of the FF endings bring a small tear to my eyes.

My main characters were about 50 lvl. The final boss was pretty hard, especially the last form. The barriers it had every once in a while sucked a lot.

The barriers wern't that hard when I saw him use his shield and case "faith" or "bravery" I knew to use the opposite so I had Freya just cast Flare over and over and the rest of my party just heal and keep buffs up. Then when he went magic immune I had Freya just heal and Vaan and Balthier cast Bravery and destroyed him. The last barrier was a pain when he was immune to everything, but I just equipped everyone with Lightning Immune armor (thank god I saved that WoW is having to big of an effect on me lol) and waitied it out and when he came out I hit him as hard as I could with everyones Mist Attacks.

I have yet to finish the game but my Vaan is level 99 so it is safe to assume that will be his level when i finish the game.
