What is your impression on Princess Ashelia

They should've really done her alot better. She looks like a prostitute. Seriously, that skirt of her is just outrageous. So much for royalty...

If they wanted to make her look sexy, they should've based her on this fellow.

How did she look like a prostitute? And Tifa didnt lol?! I agree the skirt was short, but on the whole I think her character design was different. Of course people arent going to agree with me, but fair enough lol. but to say prostitute is a tad OTT when you have the likes of Tifa's and the X2 outfits.

I liked her - once you realize what she's been through you'd probably understand many of her imperfections - archideas is right though: her skirt is too short.

SapphireStar, I never said anything about Tifa. But now that you bring her up, yes, she wasn't much better either.

Not that it matters much, but wasn't Ashe of royal blood? You'd think she'd be a little more caring of how much she should show to the public. :P

I know you didnt, I was simply using her as an example that there are worse dressed female characters out there. And at the time you meet her Ashe is meant to be dead isnt se? And you dont know she is a princess till she tells you. She cant be running round saving the world in a giant frilly frock lol.

I actually liked Ashe, her attitude wasn't very attractive, but I think that made her a stronger, more believable character.

hm... I don't like Ashe's personality, because she's always so grave and irritated. Aventually it gets a bit annoying that she allways has the same tone in her voice. But perhaps it makes her more believable that her past has made it's marks....
One thing that can NOT be excused is her outfit!! I mean; what princess wears the shortest miniskirt in existence??!

My first impression was a stuck up royal, that wouldn't get off her high-horse.

And imagine that, I still feel that way to this day. :P
I always thought she was quite rude, and most people that argue with me about it try and use the fact that Rassler died to defend her bad behaviour. I for one, think there's no excuse to be a complete and utter brat no matter what has happened in your life. Vaan lost someone important to him too, but you don't see him telling people to shut-up and making sure everyone knows that he's 'better' than they are. Ugh, she is just so irritating.
I just can't stand egotistical elitists that don't have the right to be one.

I agree with a few people in that her skirt was far too short, but apart from that, I thought she became a pretty decent person towards the end. I think the whole deal with her was that when you first met her, she was a very stuck up person who didn't want to reveal herself fully to strangers incase they exposed her, and she kind of took the opposite approach to Basch in that she wasn't trying to defend her honour at a time when she had no companionship.
Towards the end of the game though she does loosen up a bit and become less full of herself. by showing concern towards Balthier in the ending movie it shows that she has changed from the person who was only concerned about her self and her own goals at the start of the game.
I've always liked the way that the FF games seem to pan out with their storylines, with the exception of FFIX and FFX-2, it seems to be the case that it's, Boy is main character, first main girl you encounter is his support/companion, (i.e. Tifa, Quistis, Rikku, Penelo), whilst the other's "destiny" is the main focus of the storyline (Aries, Rinoa, Garnet, Yuna, Ashe), I don't feel that hers was the best of the lot, but still, there's a defjnate change from the way she is at the start to the way she is at the end, much like Squall's change of feelings in FFVII.

I liked her she was one of my favorite characters, Next to Balthier and Fran, She was cool cause she developed from a bratty princess to well less bratty, and she reminded me a lot of Rinoa too, also one of my favorite characters.Plus I like her hair, her Clothes could've covered more of her body but hey it is Final Fantasy;)

I like how she transforms herself throughout this story. She starts out cold and truly resentful towards everyone and wants power. But by the end of the story, she changes and is much more open and friendly and looks on the bright side of everything.

I liked Ashe. Her stoic character was a nice change from the usual emotional heroine. She's determined to restore her kingdom, and her dead husband, while a factor, isn't the main reason; Dalmasca's sake is.

And, she didn't seem elitist to me, I probably wouldn't like to come across people who had just stolen from my home either. That's being normal. I also wouldn't take elitist to mean demanding the release of above mentioned thieves.

At first when you first meet her I was like wtf is with this chick and then as the game got further she started to become my fav charctor :P

I loved how this FF didn't go "cliche" with Ashe and Vaan... I was SO nervous when FF12 was still in development and tidbits would be released from time to time... everyone was expecting them to get together.

I thought it would be WAY too overdone with the "dorky immature hero gets the frosty princess and melts her heart in the end" scenario. And thank goodness it didn't turn out that way!!!

I really didn't like how they tried to compare Vaan's backstory with Ashe's... while Vaan's is, on a personal level, the same heartwrenching stuff as Ashe's, it just didn't fit right. Every time they had a "moment of understanding" scene felt awkward and out of place (actually, the scene in Jahara felt right, where she gets to know Vaan and that his plight is reflective of hers, but after that, it felt like they were just pressing Vaan's backstory onto Ashe's, which was much more interesting and drove the plot on anyway).

I guess, based on the ending, they needed to fall back on a hero more closer to the player's POV (Vaan), since it was stated that Ashe had to basically go back to her ivory tower of being a queen; but not without forgetting who put her there.

She kept her nobility, her cause, and her heart! And that is so refreshing for an FF heroine.
