What is this movie called!?

Okay so I'm going crazy not knowing what the hell this movie is called!

I only remember bits of it.

It's sort of like back in the persian sort of era. Sorta like the Prince of Persia with the scenery etc.

It starts off with a young man coming back from war, or from training to become an official warrior or something.

The King likes this guy and wants him to be his personal guard and wants him to prove his loyalty by killing his friend in front of the King.

He doesn't do it. He frees his friend and gets into a battle with the king and the king has powers or something and conjures up snakes and such.

Anyway, he decides to go to the underworld to get this dagger that will kill the king and goes with his childhood friend who is a girl and also has a few other guys tag along who believe that there are riches in the underworld.

They run into a goddess who protects the dagger or whatever weapon it is and she wants this warrior to stay with her because she likes him I think.

I think they fight a minotaur as well at one stage.

Anyone have any idea what this movie is!

Hmmmm, do you have a vague idea of what the time period might be?

All I remember was that there was a lot of sand. >.<

Can't really think of a specific time period.

The part that is the most clear to me is when he and the three or four guys and the one girl childhood friend are in a tunnel that has a minotaur in it.

There's also a cell that has people in it that are to be fed to the minotaur.

I know that they killed it in the end. I can't remember how.

I only remember bits and pieces of scenes. >.<

Can't even remember how they came to be able to cross over into the underworld.

The actors and actresses aren't that popular by name so I can't even word search them and see what movies they've been in. =/

It's The Scorpion King 2: Rise of a Warrior.
