What Is The Point Of Drinking

What I mean by crazy is they could get sex crazy if they see a hot girl or something. Also they always walk weirdly lol!!!

The only point of drinking is because Beer and Wine taste good,
have a glass of Beer or Wine with dinner, ro go out with your buds and have a few

people who are wasted are stupid, abusing alcohol is wrong!
and a surprising fact came up, there is 2x as many alcoholics in the USA as their are in the entire continent of Europe...
I'm pretty sure its a mental thing, so you can't say "I can't help it"
 
Thats some crazy statistics i never thought the numbers would be anything as high as that. Thats quite scary. Well im one of the percentage that duznt go out and drive after i drink and im not sex crazy all the time. What it comes down to for me is that i enjoy a drink in moderation and sometimes in excess, if i do fuck up my body later on in life i wont look back and regret it cuz ive had a lotta fun so far. :)

Some people drink because they like the taste of alchohol.

Other people drink for the sake of getting drunk - to basically escape their problems, let go, laugh, and have a blast with their friends. They know they'll be hung-over the next day, but they either indulge, and/or think the fun is worth it.

Depression sometimes results in alchoholism.
It allows them to temporarily escape the misery they face.

Some people don't like to get drunk, because it can cause them to become irritable and paranoid.

Others drink to "fit in."

I totally frequented those forums for a couple of years. I went by a different username though. I was known as Mayumi then (yeup, a bit of a weeaboo but hey... I was 13 then :P )

Back on topic, I usually don't drink alcohol because alot of it tastes kinda weird. That said, I'm more of a stay-at-home kinda gal. Social situations with lots of people I don't know and loud noises are just something I don't usually enjoy. At times when I find myself in those types of situations for one reason or another, I sometimes need a drink in order to lighten up a little bit. It's not something I do all the time, but sometimes it's just nice to have that drink in order to loosen up in order to make the most of the night.

Getting completely wasted sucks. Personally, that's a once and never again experience for me. Some people just never learn I guess.

On an end note, my friend plans on forcing another friend and I to go see the movie Twilight with her. Me and the friend being forced to go have agreed that we are not watching that damned movie sober. :wacky:

A statstic of the %age of drivers who have been caught drunk driving, or who have been involved in a drunk driving accident would be more useful. Last time i checked it was under 10%, which yes, is a minority - significantly so ;)

Actually, that is a lot of people when it shouldn't be happening in the first place. Trying to put the victims and instigators at a disadvantage by covering it up with another misfortune is pretty fuckin' sick to me, because they're both horrible occurrences. It's people who think in such a manner that only contribute to the problem instead of doing anything to help prevent it. We'll never fix any problem, be it drunk driving or death by disease if we don't realize how problematic it already is.

You seem to be missing my point. I never used the word 'majority' to claim anything. In fact, I pulled it from someone else's statement and used it as a means to elucidate the picture. I said 'a lot', that's obviously not the majority. I wanted to point out that there were probably a lot more people drinking and driving--not necessarily being injured or killed, but putting themselves and others in a dangerous position--than some think, even having mentioned that the statistic used was a rough estimate.

I find myself agreeing with decado on this actually, he points out a very good fact.

Its also a commonly known fact that governments, public services and the news like to twist statistics and facts by making the actual problem "larger than life"

Many of us that do drive, but also like to drink sometimes are often sensible, personally i usually leave my car keys at home if im planning on drinking, or if im out and decide to make a night of it, ill give my car keys to my best mate since he doesnt have a licence and isnt insured to drive my car in the first place...also the fact that theres no way in hell that id trust him behind the wheel of my car without a licence anyway.

Look at the campaign ads they have on the television and radio at the moment about drinking, look at the newest campaign they have on all new tobbacco products, these are minority cases and circumstances at best, but once again they are pushing to make it all seem "A huge issue" when its usually only the minority that either go this far with drinking, or dont quit smoking when they are told to by a doctor (there are always early signs to most of diseases you can get from smoking, and the doctor will warn you off smoking if you start developing these symptoms)

Unfortunatley, as we are "the nanny state" the minority issues will always be made to be larger than they are until everyone thinks and acts like the controlling powers that be want them to...such is the problem many of us britons face on a day to day basis in our god-forsaken hell whole of a country....

My personal view on drinking, everyone does to an extent know there limit, its just down to common sense and knowing when enough really is enough, unfortunatley, common sense is a rarity amongst some and they will carry on drinking until they end up in a state, Drinking socially and in moderation is actually quite fun and you always find the night more fun if you follow the simple rule:

"Pace yourself, Dont race yourself"

just my serious thoughts on the matter.
 
I go out and drink & get other people drunk because I dont look so good when people are sober.

It's as simple as that for me.

I dont drink but my bros do but not every friday they do it once in a while but it not heavy usaually they will only have two or even one and then the next day they feel fine.Its can be fine once in a while but not like every day the point of drinking is people just want to have a good time and drinking makes them feel better for them selves.
 
Well after living with a drunk for the past few years, I have firmly decided that drinking is not for me. The person in my family who drinks can go through 20 or more beers in one night, despite the fact that we've warned him over and over that's waay to many. He's gotten drunk and driven on more than one occasion, but he's only been caught by the law once. Growing up watching things like this has made me never want to even taste the stuff.

That said, I don't have anything against every person that likes to drink. I understand that it's a great way to loosen up and have fun, I just don't like it when people get so wasted that they can barely see straight. People who drink in moderation and know when to stop are fine in my book; Sadly though, a lot of people in the world today don't know when too much is too much.
