Sorry, but really. Is it some kind of flesh-coloured material? How would it stay on? Move this if needed ^_^

I'm talking about, of course, her Al Bhed outfit as we first see her. First off, bad outfit choice, SE. Second, I seriously thought she wasn't wearing anything other than the red stuff when I first saw her. What did you think?
 
It do have to safe it was an interesting choice of clothing, yes the colors do look a little confusing and I thought that for a second also but then realized what she was actually wearing a full body suit.
 
I think she isnt wearing anything tbh I hate the green straps on the Suit As well If it is part of the suit then why would they have it that colour seems a bit strange or maybe they did it on purpose to Attract the Male audience

Whenever I play this game (particularly after not playing for a while) the flesh coloured part of the suit always tricks me. I don't think the suit is too bad since it's just meant to be a diving suit, but those green straps look really...odd. :confused:

I'd assume it would stay on just like a wet suit would.
 
A'ight, I'm fairly sure that ingame they make it discoloured. When she shows herself to Tidus, the 'wetsuit' part is actually very non-skin looking without the green straps, and the colouring is different. I don't think it was to attract a male audience at all.

Y'know.. when I first saw that scene, I thought she was naked underneath. You can kinda tell Tidus was thinking the same thing as she undressed. The way she unzips her outfit is done in a rather.. seductive way. They didn't have to zoom in on it.

Especially on some televisions, her orange tank top looks a tan skin colour. you can totally tell by his face XD
And also the fact that she had a whole other outfit under there is just like .. :\
 
Yeah, lol. Rikku was meant to be the sex icon from the very beginning! And not to mention, Square seems to really like putting their females in short shorts/skirts(like Rikku's green ones.. Yuffie's.. Ashe's.. Yuna's etc. etc...)

Thought that it was a strange body-suit too, but thought that the odd colour designs were apart of her culture. But looking at the picture above, the tan of her normal dress is almost the same colour of normal human skin. Think that the body-suit is meant to give male players the illusion that she is naked. And when she takes off her body-suit here it kind of sends out the illusion that is about to strip, or could be stripping..

Though don't mind that this happens to Rikku, because some male players might feel awkward about Tidus being almost shirtless. =]

I think it was meant to create a kind of sensual atmosphere (funny word.) because as an Al Bhed on her ship she would have seemed a bit threatening or having social prowess, and then she takes off her complicated suit and suddenly there's a cheery blonde girl in cargo shorts and a tank top.

Also, I don't like to think of Rikku as a sex icon. In FFX and X-2 she wears rather skimpy clothes, yeah, but I think she does that as it suits her style of an agile thief.

And I certainly don't feel awkward about Tidus' character design :wacky:

Not to mention just being attacked by a Al Bhed machine and Yuna just got abducted.
And Wakka was 'jumping' around saying how 'evil' and 'vindictive' the Al Bhed's are..

Kind of trying to remember Tidus's expressions when he saw Rikku during this scene, and he kinds of almost step-back like a battle pose, and then when he notices that it's Rikku he's really shocked...

Agree with you, In FF X she's just a happy-go lucky teenager ! ^^

[ Was just trying to think outside the box, and maybe think through SE's minds and what their aim could be with the strange costume ]

Though disagree on the FF X-2 costume, kind of believe that Rikku was changed for a sex icon fantasy, unlike the FF X Rikku..

Before I start responding, here's a few rather obvious butt shots.

SE definitely was adding something there. Not to mention the fact that when she takes the top part off she kind of shrugs backwards so the straps come off. I'd like to say this scene utterly does NOT match Rikku's personality. The FMV part, anyway.

Maybe that's Rikku's place in the game. Well, not the only reason she's there, but maybe something to do with people needing to realise that just because a group of people from a certain larger group seem/are bad, doesn't mean the entire large group is.. if you get what I mean. FFX is kinda like that, especially with the whole yevon

The one on the right is from while she's still unzipping and unclipping, and he doesn't show an inch of disgust or negative shock, instead he just looks surprised. I don't really understand his shock. He sees her on the coast in her Al Bhed uniform, and once she's undressed he says "You're Rikku!". I'm guessing this is from him realising "This is the actual Rikku.", since he obviously knew who she was beforehand.

The one on the left is right as she takes her helmet off. He wants a good look at her, to find out who this mysterious person actually looks like. And yes, he does step back.

I have a theory. Maybe one of the reasons why Rikku joined the Guardian Crew was because she wanted to be a cheery person for the team, the one who lifts everyone up. I'm guessing that on the Al Bhed ship there wasn't much room for joking. Plus she wants to see the Calm come, and to prove that an Al Bhed can help a follower of Yevon also. :)

Wow. I seriously over-observed that, haha. :D Something else I wanted to add but I can't remember for crap.

Hmm, i can't even remember what I thought when I first saw that video.


I will say this though, I never once thought Rikku was attractive at all until X-2. My friend Matt's girl friend would always say how pretty she was but I never could see it.

I thought she was really cute :gasp: Since she was a teenager and all, she had a good tomboy thing going for her, but in FMVs she looked strange <.<
She is way pretty in X-2 though x3
 
Tidus' facial expressions are hilarious right there.

The suit never tricked me - I didn't think it looked like her skin, but maybe it was just my TV.
 
yeah i didnt think she was wearing anything either when she first reappears then i saw later that she actually was wearing something lol

i knew it was a sweet suit but it did look like skin.

when rikku was stripping, i had to turn off my tv. lil kids were there -.-

It never looked like she was wearing nothing to me... Can anyone post a picture of her when you meet her the very first time (non-FMV)? If that's when she supposedly looks naked, heh.

Anyhow, her outfits never made me think twice. But the way she joined the guardian team was weird. "Hey guys, here's some girl that none of you have ever seen before, can she be Yuna's guardian too?" "Sure, why not?" o_O
