What if you kill a Hunt Target before you get the quest?

Ok, so I killed the Wyvern Lord before I got the Hunt quest. Does this mean I can never complete the hunt? Or did he respawn when I accepted the quest? I don't want to have to wander around for an hour trying to find him again if he's not gonna be there.

i did the samething and i havent seen him at all seens i killed him even after i accepted the hunt.
 
That's not possible, the hunt mark is only out when you have talked the petitioner.
 
some of the early hunts like the tomatoe guy and the wyvern lord are out and about, plus during the game it tells you if you kills marks before you accept the bill you wont get credit for them. theres not many marks that do this but im sure its the first few at the start of the game.
