I really, really hate the way the attribute/stat increases are randomised at level up. It REALLY annoys me and is the reason I quickly lost interest in Final Fantasy I. Why should I bother making a party of characters with the same jobs when they will very quickly become completely unevenly matched compared to each other?

At least in FFX-2 the attribute bonuses were all pre-determined, and in FFIII on the DS too, although I really dislike the way that HP parameters are still random at level up, even though nothing else is.

That is GROSSLY inconsistent and it so very bugs me bigtime.

Random attribute increases are just NOT FAIR!

It's like Pokemon, but tbh, it doesn't really matter to me. XD

Are you sure that they're always random? In some games, stat gains at level up can actually be controlled: In FFVI, by Espers; in FFVIII, by support abilities; in FFIX, by equipment. They may not be the only examples.
FFIV is known for having random stat increases at level up, but only after characters reach level 70.

It's never bothered me in the slightest. If you level everyone up evenly then the difference in eveyone's stats aren't of any significance. I never paid too much attention to something like that though...

When I play FFI with a party of 4 characters with the same jobs, after about 10 levels the difference between the max and min HP, and other stats, between the lowest and highest characters is ridiculous!

HOW can you ever hope to have a balanced party when the characters don't balance each other out, because of stupid pointless randomised bonuses instead of having something that's CONSISTENT?!

It makes me want to pull my hair out the number of times I have to reload a game at a point just before level-up, in the hope that the characters have increases that are at least similar!

By level 15 I could have one Red Mage with a maximum HP of 75 and another level 15 Red Mage with a maximum HP of 150...

W.T.F.?!

Well that's just in the earlier FF's. In all of the ones I've played (VI - XII) all the stat increases have been pretty close and so the characters have stayed pretty even throughout

Just so we're on the same page...Final Fantasy X-2 was the worst ever made bar none. I couldnt imagine who would take a liking to a game that ruined a Perfect Ending To another one....Hint

And what are you talking about. Lets start from VI:
Equipping Espers Gives you added bonus Stats
VII:
VII is just VII. Nough said
VIII:
I have gone to hell, defeated the Undertaker, Satan, Came back up kicked the Omega Weapons A$$ and used him as a ragdoll.
GFs give you great Bonus' like: Strength, Vitality, Spirit, and Magic...Everything needed to become Gods Demon
IX:
IX was more old school [classes]. you had to get certain items to learn certain abilities. Once youve learned them, equip them to your liking.
You are limited to Ability Stones. Once theyre all used up you can either unequip the old ones to make better or more strategic battle plans, or level up some more and get some more Ability Stones. Pretty Basic
X:
I AM Satans Angel at this Game, PM me if you have questions about leveling up, where to find Gil, Who to Bribe, and Creations to fight.
You can save up your AP and use it all later in the game. Never forget that...it comes in handy, if you plan ahead right.
