What do you want to see in future FF games?

i wanna see more tough action, character twist and a much powerful weapons and strength...

I think that Final Fantasy should just die out after the 13th segment. Sure it was high tech! All too technical and hardly an organic, fluid, non-linear game at all. There was no life in it. It was just a dead masterpiece. I just imagine too many ways in which final fantasy could be made into a way better game, with Heavens and parallel universes and everything, for them to get beyond their extinction, so we can move onto another fantasy genre. Final Fantasy is finished.

FF4ever, I remember people saying that after 8 came out. and again after 9 came out. But they bounced back with a true Epic in X. They just need to step up their game- you can't win them all.

Exactly, they are making things that they THINK we'll like. You can't strike gold every time. Sometimes, you'll miss completely.

I didn't think 13 was nearly as bad as people make it sound. It's funny though, the critics of 13 are just as loud as the critics of 7, so I take most of it with a grain of salt anyway. Final Fantasy will continue on until Square says they are done with it, and I don't think they are anywhere near done.

The return of the turn based system.

Real time kills Final Fantasy IMO. It ruins it's charm and turns into a hack and slash type game where you just sit there and hit attack fifteen times.

At least an option so that those of us who like it better can have it. It's one of the big reasons that I refuse to play FF13. And that I hate FF12.

Instead of adding something new to the Final fantasy series or bring back something I'd get rid of somehing.

NO KIDS!!!/cheery people/kiddie moments/kiddie lines

:rage:

so many people complain of annoying characters in the FF series.........and most of the time they seem to be the kids (youngest character) in the game.

fo real now, this just creates hate.........SE just should get rid of them once and for all...........I don't think I've ever seen someone who really likes a character like Vanille for example...............

and on the kiddie moments side/lines..........yeah it's pretty much the same thing........I don't think people like the kiddie moments as well (e.g. the laughing scene in luca FFX).........scenes like that are just pointless, and piss people off. I think Final Fantasy is the only game which has these kiddie moments...........I think FFXIII is rated 16+ here in the U.K (not sure about FFX).............But,FFXIII is rated for 16 year olds (a normal teenager) I'm 100% sure they don't really like the kiddie scenes..........If this game was rated 7+ fair enough maybe they have got a reason to add kiddie scenes but it's not.

and SE need to get rid of these kiddie characters and scenes for the future FF's

looks like they are looking at FFXIII versus but you never know..............

I liked the battle system in X -knowing how many turns you get before the foe allows for way more strategy.

Also can they go back to more of the sphere grid than the crystarium? There was 0 true customization in that. Or maybe give us even more control over how we want to shape our characters.

They need to do an overhaul and come up with the next VI, in a sense. XIII had the graphics category nailed down, but it was no VI.

Also, sorry but the games sometimes resemble Disney too much, now that I realize it... like the kissing scene between Snow and Serah. They need to work a little on keeping the serious flow.

sigh...
FF is certainly not finished.

I think, and I have said this on other forums, they should bring in a western developer, Bioware, Bethesda, some of the old Black Isle folks who worked on their signature games and have them develope the characters.
That would I hope put an end to some of the annoyances and get better character development.

Just my opinion. Of course others disagree and say it might make the series worse.
I doubt Kitase , Toriyama and the other FF directors and producers would tolerate western input anyway. They would feel insulted.

I still believe it's the best way to revitalize the franchise though.

Bethesda? The makers of Morrowind and Oblivion? They have their strong points but character development is more imaginary in those sorts of games isn't it. I don't remember a single original character in either of those two games.

Plus if you brought in Western Developers it wouldn't be a JRPG anymore and I'd lose all desire to play it. :gasp: Western RPGs just aren't the same IMO.

Hey my idea isn't perfect.

I feel it's better than doing nothing.

shrugs.

I 'm a big fan of Baldur's gate..so bring in the people who worked on that.

That would be a definite inprovement in my opinion.

As for as it being a jrpg..define jrpg and what it means to you. What should a jrpg be ?
To me I'm focused on rpgs and and whether they follow the pattern I like regardless of who makes them or where they come from.

It's not so much where it comes from that matters...western RPGs are different than eastern RPGs. Eastern RPGs have certain story elements and you expect certain things.

I don't think they need to change things story or character wise myself. It's the gameplay that needs to be overhauled. Real time isn't working.

Shrugs...

Real time is ok.

To me story and character developement matter as much as gameplay and that is where the recent games have come up short.

I don't expect major changes from Square as long as the games continue to sell.
That's the only thing they really care about anyway.

I don't really think you can blame SE for the bad gameplay..........I mean RPG games seem to be a dying game genre itself............

The only reason I play RPG games are because of the story...........thats what I think is needed and matters at most.........

But as for the gameplay which I'm not really bothered about I'd like to see different elements come into it.........

Like in FFXIII they had the gestalt mode..........which had you doing something different.

why not a shooter mode.......during a limit break/overdrive/trance/ or using a when using a summon etc etc.

or a beat em up mode......where you punch or kick an enemy during a trance/overdrive/limit break or whatever.........

of course there could be other elements like this..........

I liked some of the experiments with real time combat. I liked the combat system of FF12, and I liked the more instantaneous combat system of the FF7 remakes. I thought the combat system of FF13 was too technically boring. So, IMHO, the best combat system would be a combination of FF12 and the instantaneous push-button melee of the FF7 remakes.

Oh, and about astrology-- FF keeps trying to borrow little bits and pieces of Western astrology and warp it into something "new age" or something. FF is a whole different universe than the one we live in, and should invent their own uniquely crafted astrology system, including a live calender that changes zodiacs during the course of the game, with zodiac connected magics that are accessible only at certain times. But make it a unique zodiac. It's a whole different universe.
