What about the musicians?

My suggestion is that a subforum be added to "Luca" where musicians can chat about music stuff. For example, what instruments they play, bands they're in, swap sheet music, etc.

Visual art, cosplay, and writing are all catered to, why not musical arts? If anything, they've had more profound influences on our society than any of the above. Without music, we wouldn't have invented the Gutenberg printing press to duplicate sheet music without the long hours of manual copying, and without that, mass production of writing and visual arts would've been impossible.

It doesn't have to be just for musicians, just for anyone that appreciates music and musicians and wishes to discuss the art. And who doesn't own an iPod/music playing device? Nearly everyone owns one. But not everybody writes stories, or draws, or dresses up in funny and stylish/cyberpunk/anime-type clothing.

So, what say you? Yay or nay?

It seems kinda redundant to me. We already have the Music Studio.
There is nothing stopping you, or anyone else from making threads like that in there, infact if memory serves, we already have a thread where people say what instrument they play.

On a side note, I think writing has influence society more than music

The fact of the matter is, music is an art and deserves to be treated as such. Maybe the Music Studio subforum is misplaced, as it discusses forms of entertainment. Aren't visual art, cosplay, and writing entertainment as well? There's even a subforum for literature in that forum. Why are two forums catering to almost identical subject matter? It's like having two Spam Colliseums. XD

Midgar is the place to talk about other people's talents (famous people), and their products. Whether it be anime, manga, music, movies, etc. So the Music Studio isn't misplaced at all.

Luca is the place to talk about your talents and your products. So I'd say the best place for you to talk about your musical talents is in Luca's Miscellaneous sub-forum.

But music isn't "miscellaneous"... Things like making happy faces out of pancakes and calling it art are miscellaneous. Things like fanfiction seem more miscellaneous, in my opinion. Not that I have any beef with pancake art ( XD ) or fanfictions. I like writing fanfictions myself. However, calling the whole musical Art "part of the rest" and undeserving of it's own subforum seems a bit wrong to me.

I share your passion for music, I really do. I'm just saying that at this present moment in time, Miscellaneous is the best place for you to showcase your musical talents as there isn't a specific place for it.

I do like the idea of making a place specifically for showcasing musical talents but whther it gets used or not is another thing...

MUSIC IS AN ART! Ah! That's the description for the "Miscellaneous" section. That's painful as well as insulting... Writing and visual art are NOT the only Arts! This really has worked me up into a tizzy. Casanova, remind me when this suggestion is addressed to calm down.

I do agree that it should have its own category, and it'd probably be used more than plenty of other sections. How many folders do we have in the RP'ing section with one or so threads in it? I could probably link you to a few. Also, we have at least one person there that'd post in it, and I would as well. Not to mention, it'd be another interest that could come up in search engines, so more people may hear about the site via a section for personal musical talents.

If not, it doesn't bother me, but I'm stating my preference and why.

I'm perfectly happy with keeping the music sub-forum exactly where it is, purely for the fact that I cba to check more than one section for the same kind of topics. xD

Theres a lot of obscure sheet music i dont have that maybe other might...what about tweaking things ever so slightly so that theres a sheet music swaping thread?
