I cosplay as Aeris/Aerith. I generally call her Aeris though because I'm in the FF7 original outfit. It's a simple cosplay which makes it really hard because if you have one thing off, it's super noticeable. I'm going to put pics up after Momocon this weekend because I want to show some pics of me with a final fantasy cast.

As for the sword, I'd paper mache it, sand it, then spray paint it (2 coats) with a metallic silver. It'll look more real plus since it'd be paper mached it be more durable which is always great at conventions since I can already tell you people will grab it from you and run to hit others with. You don't want it broke easy. Also if you could, make it look thicker so it can compensate for being really long and don't forget the two holes for materia slots. Other than that it looks good. I like the detail on the sword. It's really hard to make props look realistic, especially in photographs. Swords are some of the hardest.
