What are some anime that you have seen that made you go WTF! after watching it? Cause we all know that there are some really strange ones out there. XD

I'll post one

Pani Poni Dash- I absolutley love this show! It's so random and funny! There's an emo bunny, a girl who has no distinguishing traits that everyone forgets about her, God who hangs out in the vending maching warming the cans with his body heat, and a cute teacher who is only ten years old. I saw this at an anime con and nearly died laughin. I have the first two disks now.

Serial Experiments Lain was definitley one...or maybe it was because I saw it when I was about 11 years old, but it definitley made me go "what the fuck?"

The first time I ever saw Akira, I felt just as bewildered as when I saw SEL. And the last two episodes of Neon Genesis Evangelion had the same basic effect. And the first episode of Texhnolyze did too (I've only seen the first episode, and am not to sure if I want to see the whole series).

Urotskidoji....where to start?

But I generally like those "WTF?" type animes as you call them. I'm really into surrealist art, so I guess I have the same basic liking when it comes to everything else.

Then again, there are different types of "WTF?" anime, there's the random, ridiculous kind...and then there's the dark, disturbing kind. I'm more into the dark/disturbing kind. So if anyone could reccomend any, I'd be glad to check it out :P

Akira- The Movie was completely different from the manga and didn't really have a sense of closure, in which the books did. I just finished reading them and I loves 'em.

Oh yes, the mangas were amazing.

But you have to appreciate the anime for what it is, they're practically two different stories if you really look at it. I mean, try shoving six giant books, all around 500 or some pages long and put them into a single two hour movie, you're going to have to change it up quite a bit.

But I agree, the mangas were much better.

FLCL- six episodes of randomness. I had to watch the series three times to finally get the whole story. It was still good to me though.

Excel Saga- a strange world where people can die repeatedly, people can randomly grow afros, and dogs are the emergancy food source. There were times when it was really funny and times when it was almost to strange to explain.

I agree with FCLC. I caught one episode late Saturday night a few months and I didn't know exactly what the hell I was watching. XD Definently very strange...

And Bo bo bo bo bo bo bo bo. Now that series is weird. Another I caught on a Saturday night while I was babysitting. My brother came home, looked at the TV, and asked what the heck was going on in the cartoon.

I'll definitely agree about parts of Evangelion, especially the movie. I'd say Excel Saga too, but it goes along as such a pace you usually don't have time to express any surprise at all the absurdity going on XD

I'd add Perfect Blue, which is wonderfully dizzying at times as it blurs the whole reality/fantasy line.

Serial Experiments Lain: What can I say? My friend and I watched this series 2 years ago and still talk about it. It's that good.

FLCL: It's more absurd than WTF. It's fast but has really good pacing.

Cromartie High School: Juvenile delinquent school. Has a mech yakuza that no one notices is a mech except the main character. A gorilla. And a guy that looks a lot like Freddie Mercury from Queen. Yep, wtf.

RA, I recommend you watch a bit more Tehxnolyze. A few more episodes in till a certain guy dies at least.
Oh, and some of you might like Boogiepop Phantom and Paranoia Agent.

I started watching the first episode of Texhnolyze, and I could only watch about half of it before I had to go somewhere, but from what I saw it was very very strange, and I would love to see the rest of it. Isn't it done by the same guy who did Serial Experiments Lain?

I really want to see Perfect Blue too, I heard it was really good.

Koi Kaze. >.< My friend made me watch it one night when I was over at his place, and I was like, "OMGWTF?!" He started laughing at me, lol.

A few places in The Matrix anime movie that came out a long time ago...and besides that, I once saw something called "Hentai Porn" on my friend's computer on limewire...that is just...well, you can imagine.

Gotta love the hentai ^^ Im not as shocked now as I own Legend of the Overfied parts 1 & 2, so I can watch them now and not freak. My friend has loads on DVD, which I still need to borrow!

Yes, there is some hentai that I just read what it's about and I go WTF! Especially anything involving tenacles. ::shudders::

I don't know how some people can find some of that stuff a turn on. XD

Super Milk Chan is really weird. I watched it on Adult Swim for like...5 minutes. It wasn't my thing.

If Super Milk Chan is the one I'm thinking of, I kind of liked it. It was weird as hell, especially when the little kid talks to his mom about sexual stuff, but I thought it was kind of funny none the less.

Maburaho.

It's your average, Love Hina type Harem, with a deepening plot intertwined.. it's drama.. until it goes for a complete twist.. the characters get like, a whole new set of personalities.. and then at the end it's more drama.. and then the series finale is like.. What.. The.. Hell?

But I really liked it.
