Taking pieces of me, and pieces of you,
For you to be there just wouldn’t do.
I’ve hid so many things that I’m ashamed of.
Sometimes I want to be like a dove --
Fly away when things get rough.

One day, you spoke to me in such silent tunes:
“Things will get better.”
I believed you,
I bought those words.
It was until after your actions that they seemed so foreign.

I opened my heart -- I let you in,
I actually thought our lives could begin.
Your eyes gave away lies that proved me wrong,
Our life was now like a game of pong --
Back and forth we went,
Knowing what went wrong.

I’ve grown tired of your web of lies,
I grow weary at the sight of your eyes.
I’m sick of this life, and sick of you.
Inside my throat this knife goes through.
I bid you farewell - I say goodbye,
After all that has been said, it is time for me to die.
