I think they are, 'cause when I equipped Fran with Bow she had 100 hp less than Ashe (Ashe has a sword), but when I equipped with Dragon Whisker and a few level ups she had 100 hp more than Ashe. Could there be connections?

P.S. I used all hp licenses in License Board

Well if you lved up she incresed hp didnt she?
Also you may have changed her accesories
Not sure about the weapons changing hp though

I haven't noticed it yet and I do a lot of chopping and changing with my weapons. I don't really pay attention to stuff like that though, so I could be wrong
I'd say the most likely thing is that you've changed accessories or something like that

I didn't optimize.
And the only accessory she has is Tourmaline Ring (she has it since I equip it to her, and thats from the beginning of the game. And Tourmaline Ring prevents poison).

HP<-->Weapon use is in other FF games (like Ultima weapon, and other ones in FFVI), so I wouldn't doubt this if your right.

My characters all have a heavy armor since the beginning of the game.

That really isnt a good idea, you're going to want to have one character in heavy armor once you find decoy (a lot of people dont even bother getting heavy armor until you get decoy) and at least one in mystic armor. The reason being mystic armor helps your spells out a ton and your MP, if you want to end up being able to keep your healing up with the damage being dealt to your characters you pretty much have to.

Anyway...back on topic, I dont know if weapons do or dont effect your HP, never really looked at it...but if they do it will show you when you are selecting your weapons. Its possible that there are a few weapons that do affect your HP so just look at the HP change in the equip screen (if you're looking at equipment and your HP or any other stat is blue that means it is gonna be increased. If it is red it gets decreased)

I beat the game with just heavy armor.

Did you beat the harder bosses? (The ones with 8 million HP and up), I guess I should have specified. Yeah you can easily beat the storyline with pretty much any equipment as long as its up to date and you're a bit higher level, I can't see someone beating the Yiazmat and co. like that though.

I once tried to beat Hell Wyrm, I almost depleted all MP of characters and I just took five squares under his health.

Has any EVER used optimized since the first day they started ffxii?

*Raises hand*

Well not on my original file. But on my Penelo-Solo file. I find I have to change weapons and equipment for certain situations, and since I have a fixed set of weapons and armors I can us on my file (I came up with my own limits :P). Optimize pretty much re-equips me back to the stuff I had before.
