I was just looking for a place to post my GFX and receive critique and I saw that everybody else had set up their own thread. Here is a banner that I just finished working on, comments are welcome.
I was bored and decided to make a new banner. This banner also has a hint of symbolism in it. If you look close enough you'll notice that Cloud has a glow around him that represents his good nature and Sephiroth is kind of dimmed representing his evil demeanor. Comments are once again welcome, if ever.
I like them, they have a good concept to them. One thing that bugs me is that there is only one colour in these siggys. By the looks of it, Id say you use a solid colour layer and set it to Overlay or something... Try experimenting with different colours in your sig. Other than that, you do have the basic concepts of sig making, bit there is room for improvement. Good Job so far! I hope to see more from you!!!
Yeah as Smiley said the one colour thing is a bit plain and in the first sig there are too many focal points scattered around the tag, it can be quite distracting to look at, the text is good and the background effects on the AC sig are good too, what I'd suggest is experimenting with different colour overlays, lighting and different textures and brushes, but this is a good start, keep it up!
I'd start by working on your text. (That's completely up to you, however, but it's the first thing I work on, 'cause colour is a preference, but text makes or breaks a piece.)
I'd start with text placement; placing your text in the middle of a piece can easily turn into a distraction from the focal point.
Outlining with an already thick font - may come over as overwhelming, and the text taking over the piece. Which would be a shame if you put a lot of effort and time in to a signature you made, just to have it have it's glory stolen from an oversized enthusiastic text piece.
Working with multiple people in a signature makes text, most of the time, unneeded. Two people make a signature really crowded, specially if you have one at both sides. A good idea may seem, to put the text in the middle, but that leaves you with three focal points in the end, which might seem really messy.
Just trying to give pointers. It seems you like monotone signatures, which is cool! But I'd keep an eye on my text.
