Underrated Characters

Finally, someone else that understands Rikku's usefulness.

Rikku is a great help on the way to Home. Remember those big gay worm things? Throw a piece of... Of... Crap. I don't remember what it's called, but it took off a percentage of health which really helped me... Not die.

But if you get good enough ingredients, she can use Mix>Sunburst which does a ton of damage.

If you mix her abilities just right then she could be a major damage factor. Her Mug/Steal ability was awesome was well. Especially against Machina. =)!

She's very useful, IMO. Her attack was just low.

Zidane Zidane Zidane Zidane Zidane...

Zidane is one of the most underrated characters in the series if you ask me. I see so many fan bases for Cloud and Squall with thousands and thousands of supporters, but I see Zidane just...biting the dust for popularity.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Cloud...he's one of my favorites. In fact, any character in FFVII is among my favorites.
And I even adored Squall when FFVIII had just been released as well.

But neither Cloud nor Squall have the upbeat leader-quality personality that Zidane has. Most people completely overlook FFIX because of the chibi graphics and ACTUAL fantasy setting. FFVII and FFVIII were so much more industrial and sci-fi...and when FFIX came along with dragons and moogles and a princess and her knights...I think everyone was shocked with the sudden change of pace...

Back to Zidane.
I can't completely describe everything about him that makes him SO likeable. He's upbeat, friendly, it's hard to drag him down. He doesn't rely on his friends to tell him what to do 100% of the time. He's fast on his feet and he knows his way out of almost every sticky situation that he's in. He doesn't throw the fate of the world into the trash can just to save the girl he likes. (aka Squall).

Poor Zidane is just so underrated. =[

Only two that I can really think of at the moment…

Ashe - labeled as weak. I thought she was a strong warrior both physically and mentally.

Rinoa - Again, labeled as weak and useless. IMO, she had one of the best and highest damage dealing limit breaks (Next to Squall's) in the game. Wishing Star.
