First off, the guy is a coward. Runs away from you constantly, even when Cloud isn't with you.

Next, Ruby and Emerald would kick his ass. Even Diamond probably would.

He doesn't deserve his name really.
 
You're right, he is a bit of a puff in the grand scheme of things, a couple of hits and hes off flying away again so you can heal up no problem, its just a pain flying after him more than anything, especially when you lose sight of the little nob

But yeah, he is a bit of a push over xD
 
Your actually very correct. Hes always running away and like the lady above me said when you lose sight of him it can take forever to find the guy again. You would think with a name like ULTIMATE hed be the strongest but hes clearly the easiest weapon in the game. He gives you the sword though so its not all bad.
 
He's a bastard to find. Right now been searching for fucking ages. Lost sight of him while typing the OP for this thread. :monster:

Feel like shouting at my screen "Come out and fight me!" :wacky:

Also, is the planet thick? Surely it could think "oh Sephiroth is in the Nothern Cave, WEAPONS GO THERE!!!" :|
 
I think the most common places for him to hang around are at Cosmo canyon, beside the northern crater, Wutai and mideel, search those places and ur pretty much garunteed to find him at one of them. Unless you just narrowly miss him every time :wacky:
 
Just beat the fucker, after a couple of 2 minute battles, followed by 10 minutes or more of chasing. :wacky:

Had him twice at Nibelheim, once at Corel and that water place where he starts from. Then it was off to Cosmo Canyon finially.

His attacks aren't really vaired enough. I mean two? Then a third when he dies? Can't really see how he is the ULTIMATE out of the lot. :|

Yeah i always wondered why he is called "ULTIMATE weapon" he isn't very ultimate.. Compared to ruby and diamond he's a sissy.

And also, i think Diamond weapon should be the stronger of the weapons for the pure fact hes called diamond if you catch my drift.
 
Yeah I know. I always wondered the same thing as to why he's called "Ultimate" Weapon. He may not be powerful when you fight him, but when you get the sword, it sure lives by its name then.

Maybe he was Ultimate when the planet first got started; then it realized that a pack of Goblins could probably take him so it created the other ones. :awesome:

Yeah, he was a total pushover. The only worthwhile attack he had was Shadow Flare and he didn't use it until he was dying. And chasing him around was a pain. Most of the time I just didn't bother flying after him. Give it a few minutes and he'll start hovering over one of his favorite spots. I'd just wait it out and then go look for him. It always seemed to take longer when I chased after him.
 
Yeah, Ultimate is a pussy.
Maybe they named him that because he's the strongest one one excluding Emerald and Ruby who are more-or-less optional bosses (I know he is too, but you get the idea). He'd be the toughest one to beat for a regular player who wasn't interested in putting the extra time and effort into training up for Emerald/Ruby.

Yep, I think they named him that out of irony. >.> Diamond Weapon is huge, and heads straight for Midgar. It takes a massive mako blast to knock him over. Sapphire Weapon takes the whole army at Junon, plus a giant canon, to knock back into the water. Ruby Weapon flings aside two of your companions, surrounds you with tentacles, and sucks out your MP while forcing you to fight one-on-one. Emerald Weapon has four regenerating blaster-eyes, and a twenty-minute underwater time limit (with the highest HP in the game).

And what can Ultimate Weapon do? Run away whenever he gets a scratch.
 
I agree, Ultimate Weapon was the easiest out of all of them. It annoyed me how he kept fleeing, as I could have breezed the battle in one sitting, but I found chasing him down to be quite fun really. It would have been better if it was just one battle though.

I think they just couldn't think of a better name for it, and just thought "Oh! He gives out Cloud's Ultimate Weapon. Let's name him after that!" sorta thing.
 
Ultimate Weapon was very easy. First time I fought him, I was actually surpirsed. The only thing that annoyed me is that you have to chase him around until he settles on Cosmo Canyon.

I actually found Emerald Weapon to be the most difficult, even without the time limit. One blow from it can obliterate one, if not all, the characters in my party. Perhaps I'm not applying enough strategy. I have a bad tendency to use brute force.

Ultimate weapon was one of the easiest battles in the game (excluding regular battles). Only gay part was having to chase the F***er around everywhere.
 
Ultimate Weapon was a pushover >.> Took me FOREVER to chase him though... so annoying. And honestly, running away? I agree with whoever said they just named him after Cloud's weapon for lack of a better name >.> How stupid. They should have switched Emerald and Ultimate for sure :P
