Trouble with Elder Wyrm.

Hey everyone,

Sorry if there is a post to put all boss troubles in, but i couldn't find it.

I'm at the stage of the game where i have saved my game just outside the Elder Wyrm battlefield, and i have tried 4 times so far and have had no luck with this boss.

I believe my levels may be a little low, with all 3 main characters at 22, as i havn't really invested much time in levelling up yet.

Basch can tank the mob like a champ, but once he uses the Spore move, that inflicts every imaginable status effect on my character i sort of freeze and have trouble knowing what to remove first.

I have got Gambits to use items when a character is silenced, and for Penelo to use Esuna on Slow, but the Wyrm seems to like to use this attack, which inflicts my characters with Oil, and then use a Fire attack immediatly after.

Any advise on what to remove first, what level i should be to try him, and if possible, if i can go through Feywood instead of fighting him.

I had the same trouble when facing him...if he's the one that's past the Gilmore Jungle. I just leveled up in the Jungle until I could defeat those blue hound dog things in close to 2 hits before I defeated the Wyrm.

Also work on getting all your Quickenings early for your characters because it essentially triples your max MP for using spells and healing.

Also, I moved this to the Help Booth for any of your FF help related problems.

you should try to get remedies and hankerchiefs and gambit them to tackle the status effects

try to be in the 30 levels as well then try again

i skipped the elder wyrm, just go all the way south to feywood, when you're in there, go north(i think) and you end up in the next zone..
watch out for the monsters on the way to feywood, they hit very hard but they're not worse then the wyrm

I think, for now, i will skip the Wyrm and run through Feywood towards Paramina Rift, then to Mt. Bur Omisace.

Maybe i will come back later once i have got some levels and try him again.
