Having trouble beating seymour in mt gagazet this is the forms to help you and me

The problem is wen u summon your aeons he just banishs them and the uses cross cleave and then by the time i heal them he uses his total annilation and kills everyone usually except for Auron, but after that he usually turns him into a zombie then uses full life.

Whats a good strategy to beat him?

Or some tips on how to beat him?

I found out one tip if u have haste on the party then when u summon he dosent use cross cleave straight after he banishs your aeon

I'll shift this over to the FFX Help Booth, please remember that each FF game has it's own help section for threads like this.

I used the following strategy which I got from a guide:

Equip zombie proof/ward equips if possible. Simply put lulu in the party at the start. Have her cast bio on seymour. Switch out to Auron, Yuna and Kimahri/rikku. Keep defending and don't do anything else. If HP goes down, have Yuna heal/resurrect or have Kimahri/rikku 'use' al bhed potion. Auron is your tank. But watch out for zombie status. If you want to risk it, cast haste on seymour so he gets poisoned faster. As long as you don't attack him, he will not use annihillation thingy. Try not to waste time using reflect all the time because he will dispel it after a while. He will get poisoned for about 1400 every turn, till his defeat :)

Ok thanks so much will try now

Another good strategy is to have every overdrive possible full before the fight. Start with Yuna in the party and have her summon every Aeon she has. If you do it right you will have a chance to use your most powerful aeon overdrive twice thanks to Yuna's overdrive. After that use everybody's overdrive, like Tidus, Auron etc. That should take him down to a reasonable HP to kill.

Also, an easy way to fill up your overdrive is to go to one of those information stand things, go to fiend info and select a monster. It'll bring you to a practice battle and you can just fill up your overdrive there.

An easy way of beating Seymour is capturing every fiend from Macalania Woods then returning to the monster arena where you will be rewarded will 60 shining gems which can be used with Rikku's use command. They cause around 6000 - 7000 damage from memory. Getting every aeon in overdrive mode works well to.

Yes, putting all your aeons in overdrive is definitely the easiest way to defeat him.

Actually, to be honest, I think it's safe to say that this boss fight was a flaw by Square-Enix. I cannot think of any conventional way of beating him.

The company was Squaresoft at the time of making FFX :P

I just beat him with brute force and tactical abilities :P But then Im a sucker for levelling up for AGES! ^^

Here, here! :x3:

...Leveling is addicting. Nothing quite like throwing guides aside with characters too strong for their own good. Eventually gets boring though. There's no challenge.

At least with Seymour, cure Zombie status every time. It does you no good to keep it unlike the Boss fight in Zanarkand.

Well i've tried both the overdrive and bio methods and still get my arse handed to me. i guess i'll just grind a few hours near gagazet and try beefing up, i take it i'm at too low a level if full-life and cross-cleave are practically 1 shotting me?
Freakin' Seymour and his sonic colored hair >:(

Unfortunately, grinding is the only advice I can give for this part. It will help you at later stages if you grind now anyway. Good luck!
