Titanium Farron - A Lightning Tribute (Video)
The Story Behind the Video:
So, after much deliberation, I just got Final Fantasy XIII-2. To put it simply, I don't regret at all continuing the story from XIII's happy ending, and I'm very glad I decided to play the game for myself (I've already seen an abbreviated 'movie' walkthrough). The story may not be as focused as XIII, but it's still a great game so far and in many ways improves over its predecessor. Seeing that has really helped pull me from all the negativity surrounding Lightning and the XIII series, and I can honestly say I'm excited again about LR:FFXIII for the same reason I'm excited to play through XIII-2. While I was watching the game's intro, I found myself wondering: "Why does this game exist? Why did Square Enix go ahead with their own plans when the fan reaction was so clear?" Then it occurred to me again that it's not the reader who dictates the story. In other words, there's something about this story that SE feels strongly enough about to make multiple games around it, and rather than criticize that decision, I should be open to experience what they, as the authors, felt was worth conveying.
That really restored my faith both in SE and in the XIII series.
Then I was listening to Christina Grimmie's cover of Titanium the yesterday and it occurred to me how well the song goes with Lightning Farron. It was inspiration + music, and I think it = awesome. Thus this music video was born!
I know how a lot of people on this forum feel about Lightning, but hopefully you all will still enjoy the video!
(I'm pretty sure at least you'll like it, @Lightning Farron )
