Tidus Star Player?

We know Tidus says he's the star player in Zanarkand but when you play him he's only like level 2 or 3... so how can be a star player for the Zanerkand Abes be so weak?

Seriously though, I was wondering the same thing.
How can he start out with level one if he was a star player?
Maybe it's because the other Spira teams are way stronger than the former Zanarkand team, and Tidus is just one of those small percentage people that could actually play.

I mean, it's like minor league and major league. Maybe it's Zanarkand was a 'minor league' compared to the Spira league.

How did Auron beat Sin with Braska and Jecht when his attacks were so weak? How did Lulu and Wakka accompany another Summoner to the Calm Lands when they were so weak?
I'm afraid you can't really answer it with a logical explanation. The only one is that it's so the game isn't so easy at the start.
That said though, there may be an explanation on Tidus' behalf; Sin's toxin. Maybe when he exposed to this, he got totally screwed up and became a worse Blitzball player?

Actually Tidus might be the star player and all but in Spira is far from being the best overall player of the bunch! His defense and tackle are pathetic!
