Those outfits..

So i was looking though google and saw the outfits of all the final fantasy 9 characters and my opion (which isnt much)is it that the outfits are really crap.. i did though like vivi's outfit... it is so cute
so the question i ask is this....
1. Do you like the outfits?
2. What ones do you think should of been improved?
3. (If no too question 1) What style of clothing do you think they should of put on them?

2. zidanes, kuja, Amarant and maybe you could of spiced up quinas outfit
3. gangsta or mob like haha

Really, I liked their outfits a whole lot.
I do think that Amarant could have been given something a little more intricate as well as a little darker. By darker I don't mean color.
Basically, I try not to worry myself too much with what my character is wearing. I've always been a strong believer in all the games I've played that no matter the items' look if it has better stats, wear it.

I don't really see how they were any more odd than any other FF game. The clothing designs in these games are not meant to be normal. They're fantasy RPGs taking place in different worlds than our own. And I'll take that "gangsta or mob-like" thing as a joke since there's a "haha" after it.

To answer your questions, I thought the outfits were fine. They were what they were. I don't usually take issue with character outfits unless they're just super fugly or ridiculous (Basch from XII is an example). As far as improvements go, maybe putting a shirt on Blank. xP

I quite liked the outfits, they suited the type of game IX was trying to pull off, but were quirky also. Like Steiners iron sneakers!!

Amarant maybe could have been improved, but then he's character was shrouded somewhat.

And i think the style suited them great.

I can't believe you think Kuja's Oufit should be improved i thought he has one off the best outfits

I think garnet wears the crappy orange overalls to show change. Because that's one of the main plot points, Garnet's change. And I thought the overalls were part of that. Just me though.

I personally liked Zidane's a lot. Maybe others don't, but I thought it was cool. It seemed like it really fit him. It's like a kid trying to be flashy, but really he's just a thief.

Well, the game is more or less the traditional medieval fantasy, so the clothes are meant to reflect that. Except for Kuja. He just liked showing off cuz he was a narcissist.

I actually love the outfits in Final Fantasy IX. The outfits being different is one of the main reason I love them. In some of the other Final Fantasies,the outfits the characters wear could be seen as more normal then the ones in Final Fantasy IX. I also think the outfits were perfect for the game and each character's outfits fit them in one way or another.

1. Do you like the outfits?

Yeah, actually. A little on the anime side, but more than made up for by the fact that so many outfits were modeled after classic FF attire (in other words, the first 5 games). The red coats and red hats of red mages, the pointy hats of black mages, the capes and longswords of warriors, the chain mail and helmets of guards, it's such a breath of fresh air after that whole neo-gothic/postmodern-punk style of the previous two games.

Freya has the look of a woman with some serious business. Steiner is just downright funny (in a good way). Beatrix is hardcore. Eiko has a cute, childish look. Garnet/Dagger would be pretty sexy if she wasn't so cartoonish. Amarant looks like a chicken/assassin/buckethead (again, in a good way). Quina is offbeat and weird (naturally, (s)he fits into FF9's world perfectly). Vivi is just classic.

2. What ones do you think should of been improved?

I dunno, maybe the main character. He looks like a girl.

3. (If no too question 1) What style of clothing do you think they should of put on them?

Give Zidane some camouflage pants, some big biceps, a leather vest, and a pair of hiking boots. To top it all of, drape a nice big bullet belt around him and have a machine gun at his side for good measure. Now *that* is a real rebel/thief character.

I thought the outfits in FFIX were done very well, and suited the characters personality. I dont get why Garnets should be changed to look more "royal". She escaped, or ranoff from Alexandria during the I Want to be your Canary play and hoped to get away from Brahne. When out in public they didnt want attention drawn to her in any way, hints why after the Ice Cavern her nickname changes to Dagger(or whatever you chose). And Zidane wanted to teach her to talk without the royal tone(which hints why he says what would Vivi say.) Her outfit is not an issue at all.
And Quina, why should hers be changed? In the beginning when you're Steiner you see someone from her tribe(or atleast looks like it) cooking up the food. She loves food, shes a chef, chef's wear aprons. It clearly fits her part perfect.
And Zidane, why should his be changed as well? He's a thief, he has the type of looking clothes because hes a thief. Thiefs dont wear nice clothes, or atleast thiefs that I've seen pictures of don't.
