First: i can tell the difference betoween a real infection and a fake one

this website was absolutely fine till today, when my antivirus blocked an item 3 times while viewing this page. im not saying it was put there on purpous, but there is something on this website you devs are gunna want to take care of...

Funny! I haven't gotten an infection with my AVG. Sometimes we're so quick to blame the appliance/machine when we should be blaming the user.
 
Apparently the problem is with the website's skin. Scroll to the bottom of the page and check if the skin is set to 'FFForums v1 [Fixed]' if it isn't, change it to that.
 
I've moved this to the Help Desk, as FF General Discussion is for discussion about final fantasy games in general, not the site in general. ^^

anyhow i know the site is clean 99.999 percent of the time so i dunno whats going on now, i did the favor of reporting the site clean to microsoft and avg... hopefully theyll look into it and remove the tag

it might have been just some jackarse who decided to report the site because he was in an argument with a fanboy
 
I've been hearing a lot of complaint about this today, especially with AVG users. I use Avira and I haven't had any problem all day, but I also use firefox.

like i said, more then likely, the site is NOT infected, and was just REPORTED infected to microsoft and AVG, both companies put imediate flags on site upon reporting, pending investigation
 
Yeah I had this problem yesterday and the day before. I thought it was just my computer at first (I tried switching around all my security settings) but then I figured out what must have happened.
I also reported to microsoft that it was safe. The site's been fine for me since, but it was quite a bugger when I had to deal with it.
 
This is why I haven't been on that much in the past few weeks. Every time I get here my anti-virus says it's discovered either a Trojan, Virus, or Risk-ware. It's still happening to me too. I know it's not my anti-virus because this is the only website/forum that it does it to. :/
 
I use McAfee, and it did the same for me all last night. o_O

It was really annoying. I'm not sure what fixed it - but... It appears to be fixed for me now though.
 
It happened to me a few days as well. Though, i have never had any problems before so, I just reported that this site was okay and just skipped it and ever since, hasn't poped up.
 
Yeah I kept getting hotcoinsru or some shit like that but now it has stopped. It never happened before only when the skin got changed from Ryan to this one. Pretty weird o_O

I use Kaspersky. And it's the best anti-virus that I've ever come across.... and I've been through quite a few of them. Windows One Care, AVG, Avast, Spybot, Norton(shoot me), MacAfee....

^ I cut it down so you wouldn't have to see the other mess my anti-virus has on it. ^
 
i had these problems too but the wierd thing was i could use the forum, SB and enter the sub-forums fine i only had the problem when trying to view a thread. I solved this by switching from internet explorer to firefox. but it took me wa while to come up with that idea
