Took me afew attempts, but I got there in the end, I did find Minerva quite challenging, but tbh, once you get your strategy sorted, it's more time consuming than hard. I am still 10% off getting a complete DMW gallery (grr) so I never got the genji equip that had auto regen, so I had to equip that materia- and I swapped Genji Sheild for the Zeidrich, so I had to sacrifice having wall D:

Anyway, all stats bar luck and attack were 255 (swapped status attack +100 atk for regen) HP 99999 & no consumption for MP/AP which helped ALOT

Just made sure I had phoenix constantly on, kept my hp up at all times. pressed square lots, died lots and went abit bonkers spamming costly punch as often as I could. Judgment whatsit was well sucky >_> As was Ultima -__- All her other attacks were easily avoided, unless you got unlucky, if you press square just as Krysta & that lightning effort hit you, you can avoid it completely  that red energy ball is easily out ran (altho hurts if it hits) and those spikey efforts, if you are up close to Minerva just miss anyway. Not that that is fool proof mind, because obviously, I died a fair bit :wacky:

The Heike Soul reward is pretty nifty although I think it eats all your SP so Ima not bother with it

Oh and you
get a letter from your stalker Kunsel
 Oh well, at least you get SOME recognition xD

Share your thoughts people :)

Yeah, it took me a few goes to understand Minerva's attacks and work out a strategy. Otherwise, how was I supposed to know that her moves took away my auto-life? The Heike Soul is useful, but I didn't like how it cursed you. Although you don't really need the DMW when you have the Heike Soul, the DMW just has some really awesome-looking moves that you miss out on when you equip it.

That whole mission was a major pain in the arse. I spent hours perfecting the technique i used to beat her, just realize i was out of SP. >_<

costly punch is probably the only thing that you can use to take down the Goddess. Every other attack i did with all of my stats (minus luck) was at 255, and my normal and magic attacks didnt even break 5000.

my equipment:

Genji helm
Genji Gloves
Adaman Bangle

Wall +999 HP
Firaga +100 Attack
Costly Punch +100 vitality
Drain Blade +100 spirit
Regen +100 (whatever stat)
Quake +100 (other stat)

5mill SP.

and i just barely beat her on my 10th try with this particular set-up.
Thank god for being able to reset the PSP.

Minerva

Has anyone beaten this boss? Any tips for beating her? I tried her in the last mission on hard difficulty (first play through) and seriously got owned. I was lvl 45 and I didn't think she'd be that bad not as easy as most the other missions but not that dang hard lol. Killed me off in about 6 turns(Used quite a bit of phoenix downs to make it that far.) and now I'm in my second play through still on hard difficulty but at lvl 73 and hopin to be 99 before I try her again. Got my break damage and HP limits on with costly punch so hit 99,999 a hit with it and have 99,999 health just workin on mainly my Vit to get at 255 and my Str.

It shouldn't be too bad so long as you have max health, if you dont andyou get break HP status, it renders costly punch useless -__-

I FOUND IT MORE BORING THAN DIFFICULT REALLY, (bah caps) You could avoid pretty much anything bar that judgment attack or whatever it was - just roll around dodging her atacks, make sure you have auto regen and equipping the zeidrich should boost your stats right up

Most importantly make sure you always have a phoneix down on you, or you will get caught out -__-

few tips

you can steal 99 pheonix downs off her. that should be more then enough to revive everytime. Also keep your hp up so that "judgement attack" don't kill you. it takes off re raise.

Ya the best I had was costly punch and max HP(love materia fusion) other than that didn't have much else had the break damage limit too I guess my stats were just a bit low I dunno playin through again for the Genji pieces I missed first time. But I'm more used to the battle system now too hopin to kick her ass this time around.

Minerva's a bitch...yeah, if your HP is on Break status costly punch doesn't work, you prolly know that.. you gotta make sure you're on pheonix down status all the time, you can steal 99 pheonix downs from her, if this helps. I suggest you equip Genji Armor, Genji Glove, Genji Shield (Protect Ring works equally as well) & Zeidrich. Try to set up materia so Zack has 99,999 HP... 255 SPR & VIT are useful, but not exactly necessary, just get close. Maybe equip Curaga, or just have MANY X and Hi-Potions stocked. Just keep using Costly Punch over and over and over and over again. It'll take at least 20 mins to beat her.... GOOD LUCK

Ya I'm good on HP got 99,999 nice 999% HP increase with materia fusion so costly punch is no prob to keep goin. Just gotta increase them stats my strength is around 230 and vitality is about 200 workin on my genji pieces

I was level 99 she was a breeze. The best way of devastating her is to have materia that drastically rises up your def and mag def and beating her to the punch with costly punch and materia that rises your health 999 % that saves you from her special since she destroys your autolife with it.

Minerva: Review

Okay. I found Minerva, the almighty 'Goddess', which I conveniently presumed to be the Goddess in LOVELESS. I still assume it to be so.

Well, to do battle with this 'Super-Boss' is going to be crazy, I knew it, and anyway, I went on with it. After all, I've went through all the pains to get Genji equipment... Just to get to her... Not forgetting the hours of missions...

And when I did, I had to admit, the battle was disastrous. On one hand, it's repetitive, but that's normal. On another hand, her attacks hurt... But that's still normal. So, look at my last hand (Oh yes, I have 3 hands, accept that)... Her skill, Judgment Arrow, is a pain to watch.

What I mean is.. The first time I saw it, it's great. Maybe, a remark- 'Cool'. The second time I watch, 'Heh, you thought that could kill me? Try again'

... The third time I saw that, I regretted saying that earlier. And the fourth time? Fifth? Sixth?

Minerva probably loves her bow too much. I managed to survive all this, so I basically watched the Judgment Arrow animation sequences over and over. AFTER ALL, I DEFEATED HER! Though, I can safely say, in the 30 minutes I took to crush this fellow...

Around 40%-60% of the time spent was on watching the Judgment Arrow animation.

So, who else went through the pains to visit this little Goddess, and fight her? To those trying, I say, this. With enough time, and patience, she isn't much to worry about, since she doesn't have exactly a large arsenal of skills to throw at you. (Though, I must warn that those skills she has do hurt a lot, and does around 50k worth of damage)

I beat her! I refused to beat the game till I completed all missions and beat her. She wasn't to hard, and I think I would of beaten her first try if I would of realized that Judgment Arrow took away my phoenix down!

My set up was
Curage - HP + 999%
Hell Firaga - Vit 100%
Costly Punch - Vit 100%
Lucky Stars
Steal
Ultima - Spr 100%

Genji Shield
Genji Glove
Genji Armor
Ziedrich

I have never used Ultima though,I basically just had it equipped as something to put Spr 100% so I would have 255 Spr. Oh yeah and my level was 96 when I beat her.

I took enjoyment out of it! The Divine Slayer is great! I haven't equipped the Heike Soul though.

Very aggravating is putting it nicely. I got the genji, maxed stats and spammed costly punch as much as possible. Only after several failed attempts and learning the battle sequence.
