What do you think of the infamous opera scene of FFVI? i think it really is magical - especially for a Snes game, the music Aria di Mezzo Caraterre is beautiful and Celes' singing voice is strangely pretty XD

i think i like it so much because Aria Di Mezzo Caraterre is one of my favorite FF pieces of music and because we actually get to participate in it ourselves ^_^

your thoughts?

It was definitely one of my favorite parts of the game. Very interesting... memorizing the lines was a little dumb but it was just meant to be fun. The whole scene was pretty good, I thought.

I like the part when Draco appears and the fight starts!

Don´t know why but it kind of gives me a little rush!

well it was by far my favorite part of the game. and i really like celes as a character, and i believe that it shows another side of celes.

That part was pretty cool. I found teh fact that they had Celes's voice actually kind of match the lyrics was pretty awesome. You could actually sing along if u wanted to. I didn't, but i could have

That scene is just really beautiful and I love seeing it! It would definitely have to be one of my favorite scenes in the game. The music is just stunning even if the singing is a little weird, what do you expect from a game from many years ago? :P

I don't know how anybody could dislike that scene, very pretty indeed. Celes did a very good job and she looked pretty too.

Im gonna say i really did enjoy this myself. Actually taking part in it was a nice little twirk to hit. I hated memorizing the opera line i somehow accidently like always forgot the 2nd line like 3 times my first time, think i accidentily hit something i should not have. Then the fight scene with Draco was revitalizing. Also liked how you had to go fight Ultros to save the opera, it was a nice twist.

That's one of the scenes I'm looking forward to with the inevitable remake (c'mon, you know it's coming on the DS like the others). I got the Final Fantasy: Voices DVD awhile back, and it has the whole aria complete with hammy psuedo-acting and gesturing by the singers. Kinda funny, but still sounds good.

I had to go through it so many times because I kept messing up the dance moves or whatever, but the opera itself was pretty awesome. A part where you get to see another side of Celes, and she puts her heart into it when she gets her 15 minutes of fame.

Yes, I loved the opera scene, it's quite poignant...well, for me anyways.
I loved the whole 'Celes' singing thing, though for some reason, I had a view of the melody as a bit haunting.

Well...

I've gotta be honest here.

I had heard people raving about how great the Opera Scene from FFVI was, and I had loved the vocal version of Aria di Mezzo Carattere (even though the Italian has grammatical errors). But when I finally actually played the game, I was a little disappointed.

I think that if it hadn't been so hyped up, I would've grown to love it and find it just as magical as other fans do.

I also think that the fact that the opera itself didn't really seem to tie in to the storyline, I felt that it was just a really pretty, but irrelevant scene.

I thought the same thing when I first heard about the opera scene. I started to wonder how exactly an opera could fit into an FF game. But a few days ago I finally got to see it for myself, and I thought it was great. I have to say, it's probably the most unique scene you'll ever see in a game that was originally made for SNES. It's just not really something you'd expect to see in an RPG. That's what makes it so great.

I think the opera scene is one of the biggest things that makes FFVI stand out among other video games.

I liked the opera scene very much. I thought the music was good. I liked it so much that I have plans on remaking the song once I get my band up and going.

I love the opera. It's really one of the things that makes FFVI stand out from all the others. The music is simply gorgeous, and considering it was done in 1994, the little voice simulation thing they did was pretty clever. And of course, the first time playing through way back... 13 years ago (oh god I feel so old!) it was so unexpected and, well, neat! It instantly became one of my favourite parts of the game. I also like how the music for the scene is tied to Celes' leitmotif. And it's not too long either - it gets the job done without getting boring.

My one complaint would be that today it's a bit dated, so anyone who doesn't vividly remember games from that period wouldn't be able to appreciate it. But that problem can be easily fixed by remaking the game on a more modern system. *crosses fingers*

That scene was...well weird but a good weird...Celes singing was kinda cute and sounded decent in the snes version,i failed at remembering the lines a few times tho but the best bit about it was you had to go down to the stage and fight the octupus thing (cant remember its name)

It’s not one of my favorites, but it was alright. The music was well done, although I found the participation aspect of it boring. I all, I thought it was pretty well done given the era of which the game was made.

I did like the Opera scene. Celes voice, the 2D background and animation was done beautifully for it's time. Although it didn't do much with the story, it was still lovely to see a different side of a main character.

It was a compelling moment for Celes though. She was recently saved by Locke and she is keeping away from the empire.
