The Light of Darkness: A Riku Fanclub

My opinion is that he should not. Riku had a more generally strong heart, which allowed him that brief moment when he won it, but, as he admits in the Kingdom Hearts II ending, he never gave such free reign to it as Sora did, something I think was crucial to release the weapon's full potential.

Why do you think Riku should have been the Keyblade Master, originally?
Because he is prettier than 'the delivery boy'? Looks must always be taken into account in judging what effect a warrior will have on any great and prolonged battle.

Ok, how about a less biased question?

To what extent do you agree with the statement, "Riku was the original Keyblade Master"?

Since this is a Riku fanclub, it goes without saying (although I'm going to say it anyway) that no flaming is allowed towards him.

Go nuts ^ :)

Not at all. Soul Eater is and shall always be his weapon, not some cartoony key.

I would agree, but I find it strange that he has a Keyblade called "Way to the Dawn."

Ooh, new topics to discuss:
-How did Riku receive his own Keyblade (and why did he have one for Kairi)?
-Was there just a lack of attention? Riku says, at TWTNW, something about "my weapon, the Soul Eater", but he is equipped with WttD. What happened there?

The Soul Eater was the name of the sword that Riku wielded when he was still looking like Xehanort's Heartless. After recovering his true appearance, Riku's weapon was transformed with the power of the Keyblade giving birth to a new more powerful weapon, "Way to the Dawn".

Well, that's what I think....

Souleater>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Way to dawn

I dont think it looked as good. I always thought that Riku had his "true apperenanse[dont mind my crappy spellin]" The only time that I didnt think that he didnt have his true apperence was when he went into dark mode. Still something bugs me, what happened to His dark mode from the time of the ending of COM and KH 2? He finaly learned to acept his darkness and use it. Mikey didnt realy care etheir, because he wanted to see how Riku turns out folling his own path. Im confused...

Anything concerning Riku is cool^_^ Exept if he dies:cry2:

When I beat the game again, I thought why would Riku have any reason to be want to be like Sora? The only thing Sora can do is be a winy suck. Riku confused me then. Sorta shocked me, actualy.

Please don't double post, Buster :)

I would actually lose respect for Riku if he EVER considered becoming more like Sora. He told Sora he envied him, but that was a moment of weakness for my prince. He just defeated like 9000 Nobodies on his own, I think he deserved some peace and quiet! Sora just wouldn't shut up.

Maybe because he was originally considered to be stronger both feelings and strengh wise, i think he should have stayed the original keyblade master, sora is a big sissy.

I love Riku, so sign me up! I didn't know whether to hate him or love him in KH1 though. He was such a brat! But what helped was the fact that he was voiced by my favorite actor from the show Seventh Heaven, David Gallagher! Rawr!

But he was just confused, and had good intentions. I choked up in the ending where Riku told Sora to take care of Kairi, and the door shut on him. So bittersweet.

I didn't really get to see Riku's side of the story in KH: CoM because I hated KH: CoM, but that's another topic altogether.

His character did not dissappoint me in KH2, however. He wasn't as vain or confused, and he finally escaped the dark side (or, technically, the Twilight side). And he had cooler clothes! Not that his clothes weren't cool in KH1 though, but he looked like a midget. :P

And what's wrong with Riku admiring Sora? I think it's great that Riku told Sora that, and that they both admitted their weaknesses to eachother that they'd never admitted before. Where Riku is weak, Sora can balance him out with his strong heart. And then some. They're the best of friends, and I'm glad that the ending of KH2 showed how strong their bond really was.
