I don't know if I commented on this yet, but I voted for 'I love you'. It's really a matter of culture and how you felt about the game and/or the relationship between Tidus and Yuna. In Japan, 'thank you' was more acceptable. I hear that they're not very big on saying 'I love you' or anything like that unless you're really close and even then, they don't say it that often. Unless I'm wrong on that. It's just what I've heard about Japanese culture. In contrast, American's and Westerners are big on sappy stuff. They prefer the characters to fall in love. And the 'I love you' is more fulfilling for them to hear from a character in this situation.
Both make sense to me. Her saying thank you for saving her life, and the other is her declaring her love for him. Both make sense. It actually would've been nice to hear her say both. Something like:
"Thank you for everything.......I love you".
To me, that would've been perfect.
